| How do you rate the OMHA 99 teams?
Of all the teams that we have played hear are my top few in no particular order.
Orangeville (good team, rely on a couple of players a little too much, the rest of the team can play if they were allowed to touch the ice)
Burlington (Good team, with lots of potential)
Kingston ( nice team with a few top players )
Aurora ( look good)
Whitby ( decent team that move the puck well) |

The York Simcoe Loop has 3 teams at the top TNT, Markham and Aurora. These three teams can beat each other on any given day. In fact if you look at the records against each other I do not think any of these teams beat each other more than 3 times out of the 5 games regular season series. These three are literally a toss up. |

How about Pickering? Any thoughts about Oakville.

Pickering has a pretty good AA team but will have to get a point or a few out of there last two games.
This is what the top three in the east should finish like due to the last few games for each:
1st Kingston
2nd Whitby
3rd Pickering
Good luck to all, I would put these three teams in the top 15 in AA. |

In the west it's Orangeville,Oakville and Burlington. |

In the Central it is TNT, Aurora and Markham |

Too bad the finals don't include the Lakeshore league. The winner of the Central (Orangeville, Oakville etc) plays the winner of the York Simcoe loop (TNT, Aurora etc). Where do the Lakeshore loop teams go? (Whitby, Kingston etc) |
|
Anonymous (Login CuriousGeorge33) | Re: OMHA 99No score for this post | January 7 2008, 11:31 AM |
Nowhere, they are crowned the champions of that league. |

It is strange that York Simcoe and Tri County go on to play each other and the Lakeshore Loop get crowned champs for just winning their league. |
|
anonymous (no login) | Re: OMHA 99No score for this post | January 7 2008, 12:31 PM |
You even have the Windsor area who don't play anyone. That's too bad because there are some good teams in the Windsor loop and the Kingston loop. Winning the Tri-County/York Simcoe loop is obviously a bit tougher than the other two due to the number of teams you are competing with. I guess we'll see what happens next year in minor atom when the real champs are crowned. |

Minor Atom is tough for the LOR teams. They lose many players to the G. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: OMHA 99No score for this post | January 7 2008, 12:46 PM |
I think they wait because many of the eastern or western teams do not start AAA hockey until Minor Atom where in central it starts in Novice.
There is too much unbalance. |

All teams in the east with the exception of Kingston have AAA. Not sure about the west though. Your right, too bad they don't allow everyone to get together in the end. I'm sure it must have something to do with the individual leagues.
Anyhow, good luck to all in the playoffs!

The Tri-County league is still wide open with only 2 teams securing a spot. Orangeville only needs a tie or an Oakville loss to secure first place. Caledon has fourth spot and Flamborough has ninth. Other than that teams still can move around. This week should settle things. |

Anyone got the Whitby vs Uxbridge score from last night?
This will make an exciting end to the regular season with 2 games left for Pickering if Whitby did win. |

Last night Burlington and Brampton tied 3-3. |

Looks like Burlington is on a downward spiral right now. They have dropped some questionable games lately. Wrong time of year to go into a slump. |

that's funny Burlington has not lost what games have they dropped? |
|
anonymous (no login) | Re: OMHA 99No score for this post | January 9 2008, 10:19 AM |
Tie Brampton, pull out of the Silver Stick (apparently they didn't want to get blown out by Hamilton again 7-0) and lose to Guelph in the Milton tournament? Then they tie Georgetown. For a team that is supposed to be so strong they sure aren't posting convincing wins. They will have trouble. Coach pulls them from Brampton to give them an easy ride and they end up with a semi final loss to a team that they have beaten 7-1. Guelph beat them during the year 6-4. |

Uxbridge beat Whitby 5-3...is that right?!? If so, Whitby finishes in 3rd and Pickering guaranteed 2nd regardless of the two last games this weekend with Kingston. Will that make a difference in the OMHA playdowns? |
|
anonymous (no login) | Re: OMHA 99No score for this post | January 9 2008, 10:22 AM |
No because the Lakeshore league doesn't have playdowns. They play within their own 8 teams. They don't go outside of that. Too bad. |

What about their forward maybe it's number 17? Not sure. I know they have 2 guys that make the difference. |

17 has a pillow and blanket on the box...13 can play. |

we tied burlington last night. Not so much as Burlington getting weaker but Georgetown getting stronger. |

Tri-County stats updated. Looks like Orangeville clinched first with a win over Guelph 4-1. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: OMHA 99No score for this post | January 10 2008, 11:09 AM |
That must be a relief, 'cause you didn't really want to have to play 2nd or 3rd given your 2-2 in your last 4 games against them. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: OMHA 99No score for this post | January 10 2008, 11:34 AM |
tri county is up for grabs. The 3 top teams (O,O & B) can beat each other on any given night. |

Orangeville beat Oakville 2 games to 1. Burlington went 1-1-1 with Orangeville. Very tight. Definately an advantage to finish first. Oakville and Burlington will have to deal with Brampton and each other. They might even get Guelph who just beat Burlington. Should be interesting in the round robin. Oakville is a win and a tie with Burlington. They have only played each other twice. Orangeville had to play them 3 times each. |
