Valley East, Oakville, PP, Warterloo, they ONLY thing you need to know is that these teams may CALL themselves "A" teams but are infact AA and AAA calibre teams mascarading as A teams to win games against some TRUE A teams.

Valley East is from the Sudbury area.

They just won the Silver Stick A championships last weekend over Oakville in the finals.

Port Perry is NOT "A" anymore than Perry Como is with a glass of Port.

They are "BB".

Its like Sugar Ray saying he's better than Muhammed Ali.

Can't compare!

Valley East does not have AA or AAA. They have a population base of about 20,000 people. There is no AAA hockey in Northern Ontario until minor peewee. The Valley players must go to Sudbury to play AAA in minor peewee.

Top A teams are simple. Valley East, Oakville, Ottawa Valley. These teams have played the games and proved themselves. Valley East won Ottawa tourney, SS qualifier and SS finals. Oakville won Chatham AA tourney, SS qualifier and went to finals in SS finals went undefeated the entire regular season with only 1 tie. Ottawa won SS qualifier and got to semis in SS finals. PP won a weak Fort Erie tourney and beat a bunch of houseleague teams. Why dont you guys give it up untill you play and beat one of those three teams. as of now you are a good (lol) BB team. NOW GO AWAY

I am the coach of PP, Valley east is the #1 ranked team going into playoffs with no questions asked. They beat PP at the BCC and Oakville at the SS. Both Oakville and PP beat other contenders along the way. The true test will be iced at the OHF's. The teams abilities to take on hard fought playoff series (4 0r 5 of them) to see what teams are made of. Both BCC and SS are non-contact tournaments in which the out come with contact would be totally different. This debate regarding the top ranked teams should be made on the ice not here on 54. The trouble with this network is that so many opinions come in from people that talk crap, and never seen some teams play.
I trust it is not my parents on our team stirring up crap, however if it is I apologies.
We hope our team can continue the success we have been experiencing, however realize the real tests will be in series to come. In a perfect world the rematch between VE and PP would be great to see at the OHF's.
We hope we can battle our way through to see you guys in April.

You GTHL & OMHA people refuse to believe that hockey exists anywhere north of Barrie. In fact, there is some very good hockey teams in the NOHA district. The VE Rebels happens to be one of them. You attribute our success to weak tournaments. The BCC & International Silver Stick is far from being weak. As far as the rest of the tourneys go, sure they may be a little weaker but I don't see any GTHL or OMHA teams make the trek up north to come and play us. Our tournament was held last weekend and is open to any A, AA teams. No teams from the GTHL or OMHA. This is not our fault. North Toronto AA did come up last year to participate in our tournament. VE beat them in a close semi and we very much enjoyed the competition. We don't get better by beating up on weak opponents. We want and look forward to the competition.

VE is participating in the AA North Bay tourney in a week and a half. Just got the schedule and don't see any southern teams. Valley East, Sudbury, North Bay, Soo (SIS) & Soo (AJ), Timmins, Temiskaming Shores & Nickel Centre.

All of these teams are highly ranked by the myhockeyrankings 97 AA

Valley East A #7
Soo Reps (SIS) AA #14
Temiskaming Shores A #18
Sudbury Bulldogs AA #19
Soo Reps (AJ) AA #23
North Bay (West Feeris) AA #31
Timmins Ice Dogs AA #35
Nickel Centre Flyers A #73

Where are all of the Southern Teams to make this a stronger tourney???

PP is a very good team. We'd love to play them again (provided we both qualify) at the OHF's. It's true that VE did only register 5 shots on goal in that game but we also hit a goal post & a cross bar. Those shots do not get registered. They managed 14 shots- 10 in the first period- and most of them were all from the outside. I would say that VE had the better scoring opportunities. Good Luck PP in your quest for the OMHA title. Hopefully we will meet again.

better scoring opprotunities with 5 shots? never heard of that one. PP had all the play, VE had to play pure defence...trying to shut down PP top line. VE were forced to play in defence desperation. Kudos to them for shutting PP down....but i don't think in a series they would be able to shut down their top line, with their top gun
