Atom A - OHF

We are getting closer to OHF

GTHL - Erindale

OMHA - Oakville vs ST Thomas / Port Perry vs Stouffville - probably Oakville

Alliance - Kitchener or Stratford - probably Kitchener

NOHA - Either Valley East or Sudbury

HOST - St Thomas

Could be some interesting matchups - potentially a Valley East - Oakville Final

Here, I will chime in for PP, just to make everybody feel at home. Here it goes...you guys are all jealous of us, we will kill everyone after we kill Stouffville tonight. The only reason we ever lose a game is if we have one or two of or star players missing. WE have at least 5 star players that should be playing AAA. No A or AA team in Ontario can play with us. We would actually compete for the AAA championship if the OMHA would lete us.

There, now on with the thread!

This is a bit of a joke. Erindale has to play 3 weak teams in a 1 game round robin and they get in. The OMHA teams have to got through many eliminations to get in. Why is that? THere are at least 5 teams in the OMHA that would destroy Erindale so why don't they make it tougher for the GTHL and MHL team to qualify so we can have all strong teams in the OHF finals.

How do you plan on them doing that. GTHL A is very weak. Way too many teams of which most belong in HL. MHL is a much stronger loop overall so there is no easy solution. The MHL and GTHL teams also do not have the luxury of bringing kids back down from higher teams to take a run at the provincials. But MHL teams seem to always win one or two every year.

Your missing some info.....teams in the GTHL and MHL have to finish 1st in their division to be able to qualify for the playdowns. It is not like other areas where every team regardless of where they finish in their leagues are eligible.

That is true but the top teams in the G have trouble with the top 4 in the MHL at the younger ages. The G is horribly watered down. Even the bottom teams in the MHL have no trouble with mid pack and lower G teams.

The winner of the GTHL playdowns should have to go into the OMHA pool when there are 4 teams left and let those 5 teams play a round robin and the winner goes to the finals.

Look at how many times over the last 10 years any GTHL playdown winner has won the OHF finals. Hardly ever. So don't waste our time have them go to the Finals.

Port Credit Atom A last season was not a weak team. 10 times stronger than this years Atom A MHL representative. Just wait and see.

Go look at all the age groups for the last 10 years and see how many GHTL/MHL A teams have done well at the OHF Finals. It is a very small list.

11:25 your post is a joke. MHL and GTHL teams have to finish first than do a little round robin. BIG DEAL.

For all the other centres the teams have to win at least 3 play off series to qualify. Therefore they win their local Championship.

Winning the Season has nothing to do with winning in the playoffs.
At least the GTHL/MHL could do their round robin the first week of April and at least take the playoff champions from each league. They could than have the round robin with the top 2 teams playing a final game.

"You will see that the GTHL has no competitive A teams"

The answer to that statement is that ONLY the GTHL and MHL have actual A level teams, all other centres like Port Perry, Oakville and Valley East, call themselves A teams but are in actuality AA or AAA teams in the rating system used by the GTHL/MHL. If it makes you feel better beating them fine, but don't say your teams are A level teams.

Looks like everyone except the Oakville/Port Perry match up done.

I have never seen Oakville but have seen St Thomas and Port Perry. Both are good teams. Valley East has played in the most competitive loop this season so they should be the odds on favourite for OHF.

Oakville played in AA tournaments all year. The only A tourney they played was the silver stick. They lost that one in the final to Valley East. Oakville would love to have 2 AA teams but, they wont let them. They actually won one of the AA tourneys. Oaville, PP and Valley East should all be AA. Valley East could maybe even be AAA
