How can one person do the rankings for 11 teams. parents who think they are gods gift on sports R4U. TA will not be the number 11 team. I could not care less if they were indeed the last place team in first year g.t.h.l MA. The truth here is TA should hold in as a top 3-5 team. As we all know anything can go down in the playoffs.

Looks like the guy who put the rankings up was upside down when he typed it.

No body contact, my eldest had body contact when he played MA (A) five years ago, I think select will be alot faster because most 99 parents who did not get their kids on AAA or AA teams went back to select. 350 bucks for select or 1,400 bucks for A which will be less competive then select.

AA hockey is where the pace picks up and the positions are taught properly.
for the past 15 yrs parents would put kids in MA (A) one year early so they can learn to play with their heads up, ( when there was contact). now you will not find any underagers in A hockey, the ones who could not get on AA teams went back to novice select.

Choosing select over A makes sense to me too, and that's what we're doing. We are the only ones from our orgs 2 99 select teams, rest are all playing A or AA. My opinion is they all got wrapped up in the tryout process and thought A would be better for their own reasons. Glad to see others have the same opinion on keeping with Select over A.

with body contact removed from the age levels, A HOCKEY MINOR ATOM is entry level hockey or House league at best.
kids who did not make select will have to pay a few extra bucks and play A hockey, AA on the other hand will be faster than select.

'A' should be a very good loop next season. 'AA' is watered down. Many kids that could have tried out for 'AA' and didn't stayed at 'A' for one season. Case in point are the TID 'A', The Avs 'A' and the Sharks 'A' team. I happened to be at the same arena with the TID 'A' team and saw their practice. I was very impressed with the speed they have. Great on the breakout and positioning drills as well. This team should be in the top 3 for sure.
I only saw one goalie out there, so they might be searching for a second goalie. One goalie might hurt the team if he misses games. If they get a second goalie, this would be the team to beat.

you are all nuts, half the A teams are made up of Novice HL players, watched a few skate, not close to AA, sorry its the truth. Every year the MA A parents talk about how strong the A loop will be and how fast it is and how thier kid could play AA. they may find a spot on a bottom 3 AA team but top teams are stronger faster and way better than any A team. The HL kids moving up to A still have to adjust to line changes without a buzzer. I have no doubt that in time some of these A kids can become strong AA and AAA players, but MA A has always been HL hockey, it gets better in Atom.

A gets better in Atom. because the kids that should be playing in AA, leave. The kids that are in MA AA, which should be playing A end up there as well. Since the stronger players are no longer in A, the talent level lowers which gives it the apprearance of improved quality of play.

It sounds like an equally plausible argument to me, with more A's. If only it was that simple. The 11:20 argument is "half-baked".

Moving on... let's face it. On average, the quality of players playing 'A' hockey is not as high as in 'AA'.

Now if everyone could accept that concept, we could get back to the topic of the thread.
