sure. great sport especially at school for kids that cant play anything else. Like for instance at the track and field meets, they have the baseball throw for kids like yours. I don't think baseball throw is in the Olympics yet, but perhaps one day. |

It wasn't the kids that blew a tire. It was the coach of the Tigers, started a fight while the kids were shaking hands after the game. Apparently, the two head coaches were friends BEFORE.

Apparently two tigers defected this year, tigers' coach left the hockey team to go to the Braves and took over half the team with him. From there, it became a p!!sing contest. North Mississauga organization has a habit of thinking sun only shines on their a$$es, well Mississauga Majors rained on their parade of superstardom!!!! I guess the BIG GUY couldn't handle defeat.
Anyway, threats, shoving and smacking ensued I was told. I guess OBA will have to drop the hammer.

No videotape but lots of witnesses to the childish, aggresive, boorish behaviour of the Tigers coach. Undefeated for a year and a half and they finally got it handed to them and he couldn't take it. Grow up you big baby!!

So after losing to the Majors, the Tigers uninvite the Majors to their tournament. Talk about sour grapes. I guess the Tigers had to do this to ensure a victory in their own tournament.

Yes you are CHAMPS but to win with class is a lot better. If you are proud of your kids actions after the game that is sad and I feel sorry for your child.Teaching your kid to win is a good thing. He will teach his kids the same way when he grows up.It is called the circle of life.Congrats in your win but show some class.Unlike you if my child did that I would not be happy.

So, the Majors win the London tournament and all the talk is about the fact that they are classless. I told everyone that Pickering was coming and to watch out. You didn't, they "surprised" you, won the consolation finals and simply went back home in style with class. They are here and will give you a run for your money. So, don't allow your kids to play any other sport, send them off to US tournaments and present yourself like the "class" of Canada, then come back to "meaningless" local tournaments only to get beat up!

it may only be a few but thats all it takes to be painted with the same brush! we saw after the game how classless the kids were. chanting and getting in the other teams face after they beat them by a lot! again I say classless kids. good for the coach of the other team acting so classy as to tell his kids that he never wants to see that from his team.. win or lose!

What happened in the London tournament that is causing everyone to label the Majors as having no class? Any general details available?
Personally, I'd say SS is a vey stand up guy with plenty of class, who has done a fabulous job with the majors 98 team, especially give the weak program the Majors have at the younger age groups.

You've got to be kidding me right? I WAS there, Whitby played very well, but the Majors played much better. No one from either side embarrassed themselves or their opposers. Both sides were smiling except for the one boy from Whitby that was GRAVELY ill with the flu, he couldn't even accept his trophy. Everyone shook hands. That Majors team is quite good, they got the better of us during semi finals, and that's the way the ball rolls. Onto the next, I don't know the coaches and it doesn't matter to me in the end I guess, but labeling some kids as classless because they fought hard to win a tourney is pretty disgusting. Get over yourselves already. |

What's all this garbage about U.S. tournaments that the Majors have been to and been beaten up at, then coming back to local tournaments and such. Some yahoo has them confused with the NORTH MISSISSAUGA TIGERS. The Majors have not crossed the border for any tournaments, only the Tigers. |

Just for the record, The Tigers un-inviting the Majors if that is what they did, DOES NOT guarantee victory for the Tigers if we have anything to say about it.
We have beaten The Tigers already this year and I think North York, Pickering amongst others will be plenty of competition for them this weekend. The Majors had 4 players wearing striped pants when we played them so we were guessing they had taken 4 Tigers. That's fine. If we got together and stole players from Pickering, Ajax etc... we could fortify our roster as well. But we don't. |

Hey WONDER TARD, the Majors organization dresses their AAA teams in STRIPED PANTS, just like the Tigers and the Twins. No one tried to take anyone from the Tigers, they left for personal reasons, each different by the way. As for the Tigers losing...to whom and when. Name yourselves, because they have been HAMMERING ALL TEAMS for almost two years until last week. As for the Twins, they weren't fielding a AAA team up until two weeks before the season. Their whole team fell apart, coaches left, kids quit, they still have four or five kids that refuse to play at all if they can't get their releases! Know when to zip your lip when the info is not only grossly exaggerated but unequivocally wrong. |

I thought parents were only nuts in hockey. I guess it's infested other sports as well. What happened to worrying about kids development and having fun as the focus. It seems everything is about winning at the expense of the kids. Parents we should all be ashamed of ourselves. We are ruining all kids sports. |

Cut it out, some of us still just love the game and love our kids. Can't help the infestation of rats in the system. I'm not ashamed of myself, I'm ashamed of the organizations and the relentless pursuit of the almighty trophy and dollar. Parents get the blame for EVERYTHING, that's only because we defend our kids against societies' elite sticks-in-the-mud, who are given the holy grail status of coach, you know the ones that they think means dictator and almighty supreme being, creator and top athlete of the human race. oh BOW AT MY FEET FOR I AM BETTER THAN YOU AND YOU AND YOU. Just got the word!!!! Tigers knocked out in the semis by ETOBICOKE 7-1. Etobicoke and Pickering are in the finals but there's a rain delay, or should I say thunder and lightning delay. Looks like Etobicoke will be the team to beat in the provincials. Their short stop and one other boy are unstoppable. Pickering's looking mighty tough right now as well....but Labour Day weekend is still a long way off. It's a LONNNGGGGG fall off that pedestal especially when you've been on it for as long as the Tigers were.

Whitby coach (no login) | Re MNBA tournamentNo score for this post | June 16 2008, 10:08 AM |
We had the best game of the year at this tournament when we played Etobicoke. They had stellar infielders and excellent pitching. The SS ate up some balls that were screamed at him that a 10 year old usually won't get in front of. I was very impressed by him. Whitby lost 4-2 in a great defensive battle.
Glad to hear Pickering advanced. Gotta support your fellow EOBA teams. We knew Sunday morning that if we beat Hamilton Pickering would be in. Glad to help out.
One comment though, the tourney was probably the worst run tournament I have ever been to. It was a disgrace. We were asked to rake our own diamonds, there was never a convenor around or tournament official and it wasn't until Sunday morning that we found out what the other results were. No sign in desk on arrival, nobody telling you if you are staying or going home...just pathetic.

There were some very good teams in this Tournament and by my observation the best 4 teams made it to the Semi's ( Tigers,Etobicoke,Brampton Royals, and Pickering. Anyone one of these teams could win on any given day.
Etobicoke 8 Miss Tigers 1
Brampton Royals 14 Pickering 4
Etobicoke 6 Brampton 0 after 3 when the rain washed it out!! game to be finished at a later date!! |

One of the games I saw was the Whitby-Etobicoke game. I can't agree that the top four progressed. Whitby lost to Etobicoke 4-2. No other team in that tourney came close to making a game with Etobicoke. North York is also a strong team. Better than Pickering no question. |

Pickering is a good team but they lack the depth that will allow them to beat the best teams. From what I have seen they should make it to Sunday fairly often but they will be unlikely to win if the Majors, Etobicoke, Whitby etc... show up. |

Any predictions from the baseball pundits about the Cambridge tourney this weekend? |

Did Pickering not just beat the Tigers? |

Cambridge will have 4 divisions like Mississauga did with the top team advancing from each division.
Division A
Cambridge, Vaughan, Burlington, Oakville
Division B
Waterloo, Brampton Royals, Stratford, Scarborough
Division C
Guelph, Aurora, East York, Hamilton
Division D
Brantford, Miss Tigers, North York, Whitby
Hmmmm.... Have any of the division D teams EVER lost to any teams in the other divisions?? I am not sure about Brantford but Tigers, North York and Whitby all in the same division?? What the .....??? I won't predict who will win but I will predict that those games will be excellent.
You can absolutely guarantee right now that the top 3 teams in this tourney are in that division and 2 of them will be going home after the round robin.
Who makes up these divisions? |

Pickering only beat the Tigers because it was a nothing game for the Tigers. They were saving all their pitchers for Etobicoke. Pickering loses that game they are out ... Vaughan is in !!!
Pickering is not in the same league as the Elite teams (Tigers, Etobicoke, NY, Majors) |
