I think people look way too critically on this team sometimes. Is it really a bad thing that we don't have a 50 goal scorer?. Everyone on this team can produce, and I would rather have a well-rounded team than a team where everyone sucks except a few guys on the first line. I'm proud of our Huskies. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 14 2008, 6:35 PM |
Here is the posting, read slowly and carefully
"Yes, stay away from Streetsville, they only been around for 60 years.
And their coaches/managers steal, no wait that was the Canucks 96. And their team had to rebuild from scratch, no wait that was Humberview, North Stars and Hornets (98s). And when there were coaching issues the team folded, no wait that was the Hornets 97. And their coaches are the only ones bashed on this site, no wait Terriers, West Mall, Hornets, Devils, IceDogs, Royals, etc (98s) have all been bashed.
Streetsville is a great organization the supports their teams through thick and thin. Once you've been around the league long enough you'll understand. Swallow your bitter pill instead of continually choking on it."

250, no.
Lots of teams got weaker: HH, DD, MT, MH, all from each level last season
But this is all hear-say, we wont know until the season starts and we see how they play against each other. |

Dont drag the 97 Hornets into your sewer. At least they were smart enough to get out. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 14 2008, 6:43 PM |
It is nobodies sewer, it is a fact and was used for comparison. Smart enough to get out, was that before or after the team was signed. We could even add 98 Sens to the list. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 14 2008, 6:45 PM |
There were no issues with coaching or anything else. Kids were outclassed and most went to the level they belonged. If all the wannabee AA parents are happy where they are let them live there own lives. It is their problem not yours. |

hey 5:06 reread the post...
I said I like the banter of chatting about both sides. What I don't like is when it goes off on a tangent about one team, or one coach, or one parent for 20 posts. If someone wants to chat about a specific team that's super duper. Just start their own thread.

60 years how many championships? How many kids stayed with you for the entire time they played hockey? Derbys left you. Now as far as the post you made you should never under any circumstances say anything about stealing. Also the bashing you talk about, the coachs from this team did their fair share too. Stop acting like you haven't bashed a little yourselfs ST parent. the word hypocrite come to mind |

|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 23 2008, 10:38 AM |
So the point in setting up another thread would be to allow "posers" to strip the team (or any team for that matter) apart? Been done already, not worth the time for any team unless actual parents set them up themselves outside of this site. Free from abusive rantings of pot stirrers and angry parents that were cut from the team, not asked back or left via their own accord.
Too many people that read this stuff get too caught up in "the game" and don't understand how to separate the fiction from the reality, there is far too much fiction, almost science fiction on this site. If you are going to live in here then you need a good sense of humour, a good understanding of your limitations and a thick skin. |

It'a shame but it looks like NYK, SYB nor NT are in MEB or HS tournaments. At least we could get a look at what they look like and stop all the ramblings and musings on these threads. I wouldn't say that they're scared, I don't know their schedules. It looks like NYK is in the Pre-Season Blast at Canlan in late August. Niagra , Oshawa North Bay teams .Maybe that's their early bird? |

These are my predictions for the coming season
Biggest Surprises - DD, HH, MT, and ID
Biggest Disappointments - NS, WML, VP, and VR
TOP 3 teams - MB, MJ, and HVS
Bottom 3 teams - TE, MH, and TR
Teams ready to go KABOOM!!! - ST, MH, and WML
CHAMPIONS - MB over the MJ in a close one!
CLANCY CHAMPIONS - WML |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 29 2008, 10:21 PM |
I like it but the only thing that will hold DD and HH back is all the baggage. ID can be good if they can adjust to no hitting. All of these teams have underagers not they are not good but they will struggle the rest of their team mates have been shown that team work wins games they have come from a group where half the goals are scored by going end to end
. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 29 2008, 10:27 PM |
Well a big surprise could be a team that is expected to do nothing or expected to disappoint and they do better than expected. With HH, some have predicted that they will fall to as low as 14th. I am just saying that they will surprise if even a little. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 29 2008, 10:28 PM |
Biggest surprise HH going from first to last in one season. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 29 2008, 10:31 PM |
Good summary
These are my predictions for the coming season
Biggest Surprises - DD, HH, MT, and ID: Question: What do you mean by biggest surprises? HH will be nothing compared to last season, the rest should be more or less the same give or take 1 or 2 game differences in standings from the previous year.
Biggest Disappointments - NS, WML, VP, and VR: Maybe, depends on what they were shooting for.
TOP 3 teams - MB, MJ, and HVS: This was an easy one.
Bottom 3 teams - TE, MH, and TR: Also an easy one
Teams ready to go KABOOM!!! - ST, MH, and WML: Not sure why, all 3 have been pretty quiet lately. Any noise has been coming from ex-members. Kaboom teams: EC and WBH, already gone
CHAMPIONS - MB over the MJ in a close one! Maybe, I wouldn't count HVS out of the picture. MJ should have upgraded since 1 or 2 strong players would have helped them big time.
CLANCY CHAMPIONS - WML: Would this be an accomplishment since this coaching staff was the runner up in the 2008 Clancy to the TID?
|

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 29 2008, 10:38 PM |
ST,MH,WML can go kaboom based on the coach issues, one moves every year, one has never coached and one has recruiting problems. The rest I like HVS needs to become more consistant |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 29 2008, 10:40 PM |
You are right about HVS and I didn't mean to slight them. They could be in the final after knocking out one of MJ and MB. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 98AA GTHLNo score for this post | July 29 2008, 10:46 PM |
1038, I don't think any of them have coaching issues at this moment. It appears that people who left have bigger issues. This is the make or break year for all 3 since, ST coach needs to prove that he can coach, MH coach also has to prove he can coach and WML coach needs to stay in one spot for more then one year. |
