what's so weird about a redial with a broadarrowby hurley
i have several WWWs that have redials with the broadarrow. i should also say that the MOD sold off hundreds of spare dials for the mark xi in the 1980s. i should also add that in the 80s, when military watches were not as popular as collectibles, thousands of military rolex subs, etc. were converted to civilian versions and sold by the addition of a civvie dial. why could the reverse not happen? you seem very unreceptive to the concept of doctored watches. almost every day some MWRine posts an ebay auction where an obviously doctored watch is being sold. it happens. needless to say, as chris rightly points out, not every odd dial/engraving combo is a fake. i am sure there were irregularities. but such oddities do raise a red flag in an area fraught with fakery.
