It's the sub-registers that I think I kind of phony...

The upper left sub-register is marked off to measure 45 minutes; the lower left sub-register 6 hours. The bizarre part is that (at least on my Lucerne) they keep constant time; for example, the 6 hour sub-register is always at zero at 6 and 12 o'clock. They cannot be reset. How is this useful for anything?! What use is a 45 minute register? Beats me.
You're absolutely right about the pushers; the top one stops the second hand, and the bottom one starts it. Kinda useful. I think the sub-registers were just put there to make it look like a chrono with more features. Maybe they have a use, but I can't figure it out.
Later!
