This is an outstanding Benrus type 1. Fully serviced, pressure tested (ready to dive), keeping great time, automatic movement excellent, screw down crown threads perfect, case, bezel, bezel insert, dial and hands are all excellent. This is a great piece that looks and works beautifully.
There are spring bars on this watch, and the original gray, matte finish has been changed to a stainless steel sanded finish (like a Rolex Sub). It used to be on a Olongapo bracelet, and UDT members would have the case buffed to match the stainless steel bracelet.
The only thing not completely outstanding about this watch is that the original crystal has some slight crazing (slight pressure cracks). These cracks are not visible unless the watch is held at an angle in bright light. None of these cracks even comes close to going all the way through, and do not affect the structural integrity of the watch- it is fully pressure tested. At a normal glance of the watch, no crazing is visible at all. It is no big deal, but I want to mention everything I can about the watch.
Replacement crystals are still available at shows from time to time, if that concerns you- but the crystal is fine.
Asking $800 negotiable.
