THE STORY: My girlfriend didn't know I was buying this watch. We were having lunch when it arrived (Dec 18) and her sadness upon seeing it was obvious. After some resistance, I got her to tell me what was wrong. It seems she has purchased a diver's watch for me as a gift. She would only say that it is one I pointed out and told her I liked. As my very modest collection only needs one diver's watch, I'm sure you can understand why I'm listing this one for sale.
THE WATCH: Sinn 810a Diver's Watch - rated to 100 atmospheres - 1000 meters. Produced in the late 80's, discontinued in the early 90's…these watches are very rare now. It has an ETA 2878CD automatic movement. Screw down crown. Uni-directional bezel. Screwed stainless steel caseback (protective sticker still in place). The impressive stainless steel case measures 43 x 47mm excluding the crown. The strap is rubber and stainless steel - original and unused. Day of the week may be displayed in German or English. While not an official "issue" watch, the Sinn 810a has been a personal choice of instructors of NATO special forces troops (NATO Long Range Recce Patrol School, Weingarten).
PRICE: $625.00 plus the cost of shipping & insurance to your address.
NOTES: The scan is of the actual watch and graciously provided by the gentleman from whom I just purchased the watch. Some details and historical information also provided by the original seller. Thank you.
