Am posting this on the Milwatches Exchange since this was often issued as an accessory to the FL series Beobachtungsuhren (observer's watches) by the German Luftwaffe in the late 30's and early 40's. This wrist compass (Armbandkompaß) is made by Kadlec Instruments, Prague, Czecchoslavakia, model AK 35. Kadlec was the main supplier early on (later a French company from the Alsace region made similar ones). Excellent bakelite and plastic case with trun bezel, Compass function works, unfortunately no original leather band. Float fluid air bubble and bullseye on inner plastic glass also acts as a level to get a clean reading. As with the FL series Observer’s watches – these were also worn around the outer flightsuit on the wrist or the leg by pilots, copilots and observers or often strapped to flight vests to hold up as needed to get an accurate bearing. Price $200 plus postage.
