500 Meters For The Price Of 200!Make a bold statement this summer with this incredibly well made 500m quartz dive watch by Astina, a watch company from
New Zealand. It's strikingly simple bright yellow dial is sure to get noticed by anyone with at least one functioning eye.
It measures in at a whopping 46mm not including the crown…bigger than the standard Seiko diver's by about 3mm to 4mm. It
has all the features of a professional dive watch (ok, no helium escape valve, so just stay away from helium)…including
ratcheted unidirectional bezel, screw down crown and screw back, quick set date, big bold black/luminous hands/markers,
and a flat mineral crystal. Japanese quartz movement, which I was told is made by Seiko, but I have not opened to confirm
this…the dial does say "Japan Mov't.". It comes on a heavy duty thick 22mm rubber strap that is basically identical to Seiko
dive straps, but has a velvety matte finish that makes it very comfortable and frictionless…this is a VERY high quality strap. It
includes a heavy solid steel (not plated) buckle.
The case is impeccably done in a fine brushed finish throughout. The attention to detail is obvious. The case work easily
rivals that of the Seiko diver. The backs of the hooded lugs are polished while the caseback itself is concentrically brushed.
The crown is hobnailed for easy grip, and screws/unscrews with a silky smooth positive action.
Like its cousin, the Seiko Professional 300m, the bezel has "guards" surrounding 50% of it in 2 areas…only the part you grip
to turn it is exposed. The bezel's "teeth" are very nicely finished…no burrs or imperfections on or between the teeth, even
under a 10x loupe.
Brand new. No box, but a 2 year warranty card is included.
Price: $275, shipped anywhere in the U.S.
The watch is sold as described, as pictured, and is a FINAL SALE.
