Question about the color of Chris Amon's STP March 707. What color red shold be used for the body. I know the paint chip in the Marsh kit is kind of Italian red, but STP usually used a day-glo red called Rocket Red. Color photos are inconclusive as day-glo red will many times photograph as just red. John, what is your source for the paint color? Anybody here lucky enough to have seen the car in real life back in 1970?

We are sure that this is correct. The Indy cars and the STP 917 were certainly dayglo but there is no evidence to suggest the 707 being the same.

Decided to go to THE Can-Am expert, writer/photographer Pete Lyons. A man who was there in person when it all happened. He confirms the car was a bright orangy red. Sounds like Italian Red is the way to go.

That makes sense as the works F1 car for 1970 was also orange red. The only dyglo was Andretti's 701.
