which is similiar but still very different,

If you place the individual with the two marriages in the center, then a line extending out to the left would join this person with their first mate. (Typical way of representing any union).

A line extending down from the joining line of the two joined individuals leads to the offspring, listed in chronological order from left to right.

Going back up to the individual with two matings, a second line, this time extending to the right, would lead to the second spouse. As no offspring resulted, there would be no line extending downwards.

Clear as mud? This illustration should help. The individual with two unions is #205. Her first mating was with #206 with whom their was one offspring, #314. Her second union was with #204 and resulted in three offspring shown in order from oldest to youngest, #310, 311, and 312.



Of course, that might not help you at all in the artistic sense of constructing a beautiful family tree artwork!
