I made my application today to the ACS for ASCO 2231-11 - System Manager - I am a SQL SERVER DBA with a BSc in Computing and 7 years experience.



Now the long wait starts - will update when I have news!

Hi,



I have just been awarded my ASCO code today for Systems Designer.

I lodged the application Sept 10 - so its taken over 5 months. However, I had to go via the RPL route as they did not accept my Maths degree.



So dont expect a quick turnaroud, and please dont bug them with emails etc - they dont like it.

OK so today I got an email from the ACS requesting more documentation from me - most of which I submitted in my original application but I can submit it again as its online.



But one of their requested has confused me and the impression I get from the email is that if I do not supply everything this time then they wont ask me again which I asumme means I wont pass.



Here were the requests:



* Certified copy of your birth certificate or passport and all Australian Visas (if you have worked or studied in Australia).



I HAD ALREADY GIVEN THEM THIS



* Certified copy of a letter of completion for your Australian degree, stating the exact date that the course requirements were met.



I HAD ALREADY GIVEN THEM THIS



* Certified copy of the complete and final academic transcript for your Australian degree.



I DONT HAVE AN AUSTRALIAN DEGREE - I HAVE AN IRISH DEGREE OF WHICH I SENT THEM A CERTIFIED COPY ALONG WITH THE TRANSCRIPTS OF EVERY YEARS RRESULTS



* You will need to request the University to provide a letter that properly explains your exemptions. Our guidelines state: "If exemptions from a course have been granted, applicants must provide documentary advice from the university/institute specifying the title of the unit (s)/subject (s) which have been credited and the basis upon which they have been given".



I FAILED A YEAR IN COLLEGE - 3 SUBJECTS - AND MY TRANSCRIPT FOR THAT YEAR SAYS "EXEMPTIONS GRANTED" FOR THE 3 SUBJECTS BUT THATS ALL. THE TRANSCRIPT FOR THE NEXT YEAR SHOWS ME PASSING THE SUBJECTS. WHAT SHOULD I BE ASKING FROM THE COLLEGE - JUST TO EXPLAIN THAT?



* Certified copy of the complete and final academic transcript and degree certificate for any undergraduate qualifications you hold being Diploma or higher.



I HAD ALREADY SENT THIS TO THEM



As you can imagine I dont want to get this application wrong



Any help appreaciated - am anxious!

OK - so after sending hard copies of all certified documents to the ACS on Monday my status has changed today to "In Process"

So far: Feb 16 - Application Made
Mar 04 - Request for further documentation
Mar 22 - Received my documentation by mail
Mar 26 - Status changed to "In process"

OK - so after what has felt like an eternity my status has changed today to "With Assesor" and email has been sent to say the infamous letter is on the way in the post. Fingers crossed!!!!

Got the letter today and they have cleared me for GROUP A for the 2231-11 - System Manager category - WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!

Now there's just the small matter of getting the visa

Here goes!

Anyone need any tips let me know,
