Attested/Original documents?

Hi,

RPL doc mentions "All original documents (and the translation into English where required) are to be photocopied and certified by an official of ...".

Question: Should the employer references also be photocopied and certified, rather than sending the original references?

Yes those should be photocopied and certified. You can send origional as well but you will not receive them back. So up to you. Even I sent some of references origional.
