Notary in India

Hi,

I am in the process of getting my documents collated to be sent to ACS. I want to get the documents notarized from a notary (in India). Is there anything specific that the notary should mention on the attested copies?

One more question, is it mandatory to get the letters notarized, can't we get the letters attested from a gazetted officer (as this is one way which works in India).

Thanks in advance

1. The notary seal and signature should be sufficient. Normally, the Notary seal mentions "Certified that this is a true copy".

2. Yes, get the docs attested by a Notary.

Siva.
