I give it 2 thumbs up!!! They have 12 dishes to pick from - you can make a whole order (serves 6+) or a half ( serves 3+). They do the prep, you just measure it out into a freezer safe pan or bag. I left after 2 hours w/ 3 whole orders & 6 half orders & spent $119. No shopping, no prep/cutting, no clean up(!!!) and had 9 dinners to put in my freezer. Extra benefit - these weren't recipes I have so 9 NEW things to serve !!!!

They are all over the counrty. I hope to go in Feb., too. Let me know what you think.

Oh, I'm more tempted by the minute!

February 4 2007, 7:08 PM

I've been taking so many shortcuts with dinner, and it hasn't been pretty... Everything is prepackaged and/or frozen lately. I actually made a dinner the other night that involved cutting up vegetables and having two pots of things cooking on the stove. My family was shocked. I guess that says a lot, huh?

How long can you keep meals in the freezer before they get unpleasant?

I have been tempted to try one of these places...

I like to cook and am pretty organized with meals - not that we have a 4 course dinner every night but I do have a plan every week - so I have not broken down and done this yet. We have a lot of places like this here - would be hard to know which is best? so - how was the food? did you go again?

Try it!

I live in VA, so I can't say what kind of places they have in NJ or elsewhere, but I have to put another vote in favor of Let's Dish! (http://www.letsdish.com). Ray and I go about once a month, and get 4 dishes (next month we're going to try 8 for the first time), each of which makes 2-3 meals for the two of us. We have not yet gotten anything from there that we hated, and most things have been very good. It's nice for picky folks (like us) because if there's an ingredient you don't like, you can just leave it out. We don't have their stuff every single day, but it adds a lot of much-needed variety to our meals, and makes it very easy to cook a good, nutritious dinner quickly with no fuss.

Also, when there's something I especially like, I will study the recipe very carefully, then jot it down as soon as I get into the car. This wouldn't necessarily prevent me from buying the same meal from them in the future (because there's a lot to be said for the way they have everything laid out and pre-chopped for you), but it allows me to have it even when they're not actually offering that item.
