I was showing my family the Live365 radio thing tonight and my aunt asked me how to find stations that play Barry Manilow. So, I did a search when I got home so I could email her the link. (there are currently 102 stations with Barry on their playlist in case anybody was wondering...)
Anyway, the first station to come up on the list was called "70's Hits" and so, intrigued I pressed "Play." Now I wish I hadn't... I have spent the last 1/2-hour toe-tapping to stuff that is just too embarrassing to like, LOL! Let's see, first there was The Carpenters, then Earth, Wind & Fire, then Gallery (I didn't remember who they were, but I remembered the song and really liked it). Kenny Rogers was just imploring Ruby not to take her love to town and now the Commodores are easy like Sunday morning. And I have known every last word of every song I've heard. And every one of them pretty much brings me back to a time when I was sitting in the back seat of my parents' car on the way to visit one relative or another. We were pretty much a soft rock family before it was called "soft rock", LOL!
Somebody help me. I CAN'T TURN THIS OFF! My reputation for having good taste in music is slipping away more and more with every song...
I wonder how long it will be before Afternoon Delight comes on I know all of the words to that one, too.
Did you ever see the episode of Arrested Development where they sing Afternoon Delight? I've been really enjoying YOUR radio station, Lisa
Susan, mom to Ben (6) and Emelia (3)
When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it? Eleanor Roosevelt
Yes! And when they start to recognize what the lyrics mean?

Priceless, LOL! I loved that show
Glad you're enjoying my musical choices. I have to get around to listening to more of the CDs you sent me because I'm sure I'll find things to add to my playlist!
I think I could sing along with you!! I also have a hidden like of barry, too.
have fun! will have to check out your radio. I have my nano loaded with lots of things from the 70's and 80's - we rock out to abba, blondie and a little journey in the car on the way to school!
I guess musically we are all victims of our childhood, LOL!

I was a HUGE Barry fan when I was growing up. I didn't outgrow that until I discovered Billy Joel in my preteen years. I still really like a lot of that vintage 70's Barry Manilow. Anything newer than that by him makes me gag, though
Is that really Adam? Seems like he should still be a baby, though I guess if he will soon be 2, he's not! Very cute of them all together.
Good to see you all!
There's no baby left in my baby!!!! He's in a big boy bed and everything! more

I don't know where the time is gone.
I should have been keeping in touch better! What's going on with y'all?
Daniel is loving first grade, and Katie is in her last year of preschool. I'm babysitting a one year old once or twice a week and I get our neighbor's son on and off hte bus everyday. And still trying to get my cakes business off the ground. Word is spreading a bit and I k now it'll never be huge, but I'd like to do a couple a month anyway. The extra money is nice!
Take care!
Hugs,
Andi

and almost anything by Kenny Rogers. My Dad used to like him and his songs remind me of the long car trips down to FL. We used to go down there at least once a year to see my Dad's side of the family. (he's from Jax).

I bookmarked the link you posted yesterday because I just love 70's music. And this morning I was listening and wouldn't you know, one of the first songs I heard was "Afternoon Delight". LOL, I thought of you!
I'm loving this station, brings me back to childhood.

because I'm sure I'll be back. Just about all of the songs I've heard there have brought me back to traveling someplace or another with my family, and I have known all of the words.
