So, I spent this past weekend letting the creative juices flow...

It was fun. I got started on a project that I'd love to talk about here, but it's going to be a gift, and there's a (very remote) possibility that the giftee could see this post. Oh, well!

I did make some new cane designs. I've been trying to make a cane that imitates the look of Batik, but I haven't had any luck. One of my rejects looked pretty cool, anyway, and I think it may be a keeper.

One woman who was there has a style that I've always admired - I want to look like her when I grow up Anyway, she was wearing some earrings that she'd made, and I loved the shape of them. So, I used my own techniques and applied them to earrings of the same shape. THey're bigger than I usually wear, but I like them.

I made a couple of cuff bracelets, too, that came out nice.

I really need to post some pictures, eh?

Oh, I also gave a how-to demo involving my latest cane design- the triangle cane:

That was fun. I don't usually demonstrate techniques, but I've been doing it more lately. I like demo-ing this cane because it's such a simple technique that involves an attractive payoff.

If you had any clay experience, I think you'd probably find that particular triangle design easier to achieve than it looks. That's one of the things I like about making clay designs. I don't know about other people, but making simple designs that look complex just seems to come relatively easily to me.

Thanks for the complement. I still need to scan in some actual finished products - those were just sample pattern tiles!
