A little bead therapy

Here are a few things I made yesterday using clay beads I had made a few months ago, some foil-lined glass beads from Oriental Trading Company (did you know they sell beads now??), a couple of Swarovski crystals and some Bali silver findings.

And they're all 8 inches, since not everybody has the 7.5-inch wrists that I do...

I'm kind of in the mood to do some clay things right now, but I'm not in the mood to clean off the dining room table so that I have a place to work. One thing at a time, I guess...

Bead Therapy is good.

Even better, sometimes, than shoe therapy. (I need shoes, but don't want to go shopping.)

I was at the Whole Bead Show in Manhattan yesterday, and it was all just too overwhelming (and hot!) so I bought silver and pewter spacers, and some czechoslovakian painted ceramic beads. And far too much inspiration to do much of anything with it. I think I'll take inventory before I hit the one in Edison in April.

It's certainly cheaper than Retail Therapy...

assuming you already own (or can make) the beads

I've actually been doing a bit more claying than usual recently. I made a pendant that was supposed to be a bit therapeutic for me, but I'm not completely happy with it. I'm probably going to give it another try in a different format. When I get something I'm happy with, I'll post a picture.

As we speak, though, I've got 8 covered pens in the oven, two big buttons that will be tied to flip-flops when they're done, and the beginnings of three barrettes. I hope to finish that all up tonight. I have a craft show coming up in April, and the pens & two of the barrettes are for that. The buttons and one of the barrettes are for me
