I must show off...

Since half the fun of making things is showing them off, I give you my latest knit project:

Pattern is from Vogue Knitting, Spring/Summer 2007 issue. Made with Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino yarn -- really nice, soft stuff.

It is.

It's a blend of Merino wool (which is soft, not like the scratchy stuff I usually think of when I think of wool), cashmere, and microfiber (whatever that is). Definitely a pleasure to work with and to wear.

I don't know technically what microfiber is, but

I do have a few things made with it - mostly underthings - and they are very soft and slinky-feeling.

Microfiber is. . .

a manufactured fiber that is thinner and stronger than organic fibers or synthetics like polyester and nylon. It can come from a natural source, but the end product is so much finer that it can be woven into very soft, drapey fabrics and yarns that will survive machine washing and wear very well, considering the fine guage of the threads.
