More fun with Dye - skirt #1

I made two skirts this weekend, using dyes and various iron-on thingamagigs. The first is my Mom Skirt, which used images from the Mother's Day book Son #1 made me. The book had 9 pages of "I love you because..." and accompanying illustrations. I thought it was great and needed to be turned into something wearable

So, I started with this cotton peasant skirt:

I dyed it a bright olive green:

I replaced the buttons with polymer clay buttons of my own making. I also cut about 6 inches from the bottom of the skirt and hemmed it using iron-on adhesive tape, since I don't have a sewing machine and wouldn't know how to use it if I did, LOL!

I ironed on scanned pages from the book, all around:

Lastly, I ironed on a ribbon trim using that same adhesive tape:

This is how it looks on me:

I feel like that bottom tier needs something but I'm not sure what. I have another ribbon that could go an inch or two above the bottom one, but I'm afraid it might be overkill. Another option is to iron on a few more drawings or words down there, but I'm not sure what that would be. Or, most likely, I should just quit tinkering and let it be! Any thoughts on that?

I'm going to wear this to Aidan's school tomorrow where they have an event. I think I'll show his teacher what I did with his artwork
