The points are this (and Blaney - as usual - is bang on). You shouldn't ever touch up a ref, doesn't matter if they were horrible. You ever had a bad day at work? I mean, it's going to happen - but usually the refs do a good job. As for experience, I'm not sure what your prerequisite is for reffing Senior B then. Two refs with hundreds of Junior games and hundreds of Senior field games between them isn't enough? Both of them played Senior and Junior - how isn't that enough? Who do you look for then? And as for the comments about Senior getting 'the shaft' with referees? I played Senior B for four years, and quite frankly, the best refs officiate the best games. A Ptbo. Lakers vs. Brampton Excelsiors Major game will always be better than the Woodies vs. the A-P Rock. I'm not saying it's bad lax, it's not - it's great, but like Blaney said - I wouldn't expect a 16-year old to show up and ref a Major game. Should I be demanding that my son's Tyke team gets Foxy or Watson to ref it? No. That's where the young kids learn to ref -- and Senior B will always be a stepping stone to Major for refs as well. Either way, it'll be interesting to see what this guy gets in terms of a suspension. The last time I saw it, Harding got 10 games for tossing a ref out of his way like a rag doll, but I'm sure it's happened since as well.
