Stars vs. Brooklin

by (Login NativePride)

STARS: Grant Crawley 0,1; Tim Bomberry (2); Chad Squire; DanElliott; Russ Davis 0,1; Eli Hill 2,0(2); Jason Henhawk 2,1(2); Dus Nanticoke 2,0; Dave Ellis (2); Joe Squire (2); andrew Earnshaw; Lee Stewart; Nate Reid (2); Kraig Maracle AP; Darryl Hill AP 0,2(2); Eli John AP 0,1; Brian Arnold; Bench (2).

Best Player on the Stars was Rebels Call-up Darryl Hill. Henhawk looked good as usual - might have the dirtiest stick skills in the league. Couple of new players in their lineup (Lee Stewart played for the Arrows many years ago, not sure where he has been as of late. Nate Reid, I heard came from Victoria and Dave Ellis from the Chiefs).

In general, Crawley didn't play all that well in the small nets - I expected him to find this easier. Youngman was Brooklin's best player and a good clean game. Penalties called were a result of laziness and early season jitters.

I took a look at last years roster and they are still missing a few guys;

Player Gms Gls Ass Pts PIM
Roger Vyse 12 24 22 46 14
Jason Henhawk 14 18 21 39 22
Stu Johnson 14 7 12 19 22
Garrett Ball 13 11 5 16 4
Dus Nanticoke 7 7 7 14 10
Cory Bomberry 7 1 12 13 4
Clayton Staats 12 6 5 11 6
Clay Hill 7 4 7 11 8
Chandon Hill 11 4 7 11 11
Eli Hill 11 5 5 10 28
Rayce Vyse 6 2 7 9 10
Chuck Doxtator 13 4 4 8 2
Stew Monture 6 4 3 7 8
Ken Montour (g) 8 0 6 6 0
Tyler Bomberry 14 0 6 6 8
Chad Squire 9 1 3 4 8
Bob Henry 10 1 3 4 36
Tony Henderson 1 2 1 3 4
Ryan Davis 2 1 2 3 4
Brian Quinn 3 1 1 2 2

Roger Vyse, Cory Bomberry, Clay Hill and Kenny Montour were playing for the Bandits Friday and i would expect that the Stars will be without them for a few more weeks.

Johnson and Ball are M.I.A.

Stew Montour and Rayce Vyse coach the Rebels who were playing - I'm somewhat confused how the Rebels let so many players go play for the Stars this game.

I doubt Henderson or Quinn are back at all.

Some of the guys listed above are also cops and have been working overtime due to the recent murder investigation and Caledonia disruptions.

I'd give this team a month (as usual) before they start to string together wins again.
