The only guy who comes on the fan forum at 3am to chirp after a win. Most guys were probazbly with sweethearts bud. Give your head a shake.

I only saw game 1 and from what I saw, Owen Sound is a dirty team and try's to bully their way to the Prezzy. Sherwood Park will mop the floor with that attitude.

I heard Dickie fought last night and lost a unanimous decision - here's to hoping you're next Looney. Unfortunately you are to cowardly to drop'em; diving all over the place in game 1.

Brooklin Merchants Action SUNDAY 7pm

by (Login BrianMcAlarey)

SUNDAY night the Brooklin Merchants take on the Norwood Nitro in game 3 of the Ontario Semi Final best of 5. The local paper had the game being Saturday, but it's a misprint. Again, game time is SUNDAY at 7pm. The Merchants are ahead in the series (2-0). Come on out SUNDAY night to watch some great local lacrosse action! There will be plenty of cold drinks, a raffle, and shirts for sale. Parents bring the kids as children under 10 will be admitted free with an adult!

See you Sunday!

Brian.

Pretty good game in Fergus by both teams.I would have enjoyed it more if it weren't for the 300 pound megaphone sitting in front of me. He bellowed his affection for the captain of the Aces all night. I'm sure anybody with him was embarassed to death. Nice to see Culp back with the woodsmen.

by Keith Peer (Login peerzy00)

Well first and foremost, Im the 300 pounder your refering too! lol and if you honestly think Im 300lbs
i would suggest you get a closer seat to the action,
cause your eyes are definitely failing you at this point.
Secondly, as a former player, who played against your team, I know how certain players certainly react to be heckled...
And not once, was my language, inapporiate, And if you heard me, then you must have heard Mr. Young, who also sat directly in front on me. But i fail to see where you commented on that. Shame someone who has such a strong opinion about the matter, doesnt hear or explain both sides of the story. In fact when the first incident occured, with the aces captain coming to the penalty box.
I can honestly say that I probably would have let it go at that, but with the reaction of the Wellington fans in front of me, and their verbal responses, well let just say the competitive spirit took hold.
And not once, did my heckles, leave the boundry of the sport. They involved him, and his actions on the floor, never once, becoming personal or vindictive in any form. But simply from what he does/did on the floor.
Which with the comment of somones personal appearence which you certainly directed. And funny how some classless acts, can spout off and hide behind a user log in. Well you saw me, and not once do i recall you ever saying anything in person. So next playoff game, you see me, oh you do travel to owen sound i hope....feel free to speak your mind. Was a great series to watch, and Chugger and Whipper put on clinics at times at both ends. Congrats Aces on your season. And good luck woodies!

It wasn't quite the beating the score shows Norwood had them 8-3 in the 2nd period. Brooklyn reeled off 10 straight goals, Norwood shot themself in the foot with penalty trouble. Brooklyn did well to take advantage of their power plays to make the comeback. Norwood was much more physical as Brooklyn backed away from every fight including at the end of the period when a player from Norwood ran their goalie and fought him.

Great first season to Rochester... A respectable showing (I thought) against the # 2 team in the league right now on Saturday. Hold those heads high and get ready for next year! Year one is under the belt.
As for the Onondaga Red Hawks, who are 45 minutes the other direction from me... I'll continue to have something to cheer for and hope I will for a few more weeks anyways.

Shenanigans:

On a hot and humid night both teams did a lot of whacking and hacking but nothing serious. Martin and Wiswell kept things under control.

Notes (The way I saw it):

The Merchants scored on their first two shots and chased Cole Murray from the net with 4 goals on 6 shots. It looked like the Merchants could open up a big lead, but Craig Robertson kept the game close and allowed the Nitro to come back one goal down at the end of the first period. Good up and down flow by both teams.

Half way through the second period and for the third period, there were numerous stoppages for wet spots on the floor. These stoppages added about 25 minutes to the length of the game and interrupted the flow of the game.

A typical tight playoff game in the heat and humidity of the summer.

Re: Senior B Playoffs Norwood Nitro 6 Brooklin Merchants 7

by laxxmann (Login laxxmann)

Wiswell and Martin did not have things under control on saturday night. there were several head shots coming from both teams, and a disallowed goal that cost Norwood the game. Brooklyn had there goalie pulled for the last shot when they turned it over with 2 second left on the shot clock and 6 seconds on the game clock norwood fired it into the empty net and it was called no goal. Wiswell said he never blew it in, even though there was no whistle to blow the play so there was no need to blow it in. This has been typical of Wiswell throughout the playoffs and a Conveiner should really be coming to his next games.

Half way through the third pd. a Norwood player scoops a loose ball and heads back toward his net to regroup with a AP player in hot pursuit. The Norwood player cuts around the net to shake the pursuer. The Norwood goalie comes OUT of his crease at full thottle to set a pick to allow his teammate to get away. A highspeed collision occurs between the goalie and the AP player.
The referee`s decision?.....a 5 minute penalty to the AP player for checking in the crease. The collision did not even happen in the crease, and if anything the Norwood goalie could/should have had a penalty, and a 5 minute penalty????? Worst call of all time.
In said penalty Norwood score twice to tie the game.
Worst call by an offical that I have ever seen. It almost cost AP the game.
Officiating just has to get better...... especially in important playoff games.
Then....to top it all off....he calls back a couple goals by Norwood that looked good to me.
Officiating, (or lack thereof) SHOULD NOT determine the outcome of games.

Re: Refs

by Tristan (Login radicallacrosse)

There was nothing wrong with the checking in the crease call. The Norwood goalie had one foot still in the crease. Also it was a high hit by the Ajax player that knocked the goalies mask right off his head.

The 15th goal that Ajax scored, never went in either.

The two referee's were Moxam and Wiswell

That's funny

by Jasper19 (Login jasper19)

Let me guess you were in the stands and with your x-ray vision you could see right threw the goalie.
On the 14th and 15th goals the ref was right beside the crease on the side the ball went into the net - opposite side of the stands.

You're right, I was in the stands, sitting in the corner right on the goal line. I have no affiliation with either team any more. The final outcome of the series doesn't matter to me.

Let's go Merchants!

just a thought!

by (Login dawaeo)

This is just a thought, i was wondering if there could be a chance the bottom two teams in the standings could play each other, even though they arent in the playoffs, reason i ask is that coldspring wants redemption on buffalo creek!! it would be a game til the end like the two they played in the regular season. both those games were good games dispite their records.

I just created a website called http://dummiesguidetolacrosse.com. It is a website that pretty much tries to explain every aspect of the game, including: how to play, what every position does, and basically how everything else works and tips on how to do it. I would greatly appreciate everyone to check it out, lead some feedback on this forum or shoot me an email at jacob@dummiesguidetolacrosse.com, or if your interesting in helping people learn more about the game, tell me how you could help me make the website better or write an article that will be approve then applied to the site.

sr.b in Cambridge or any wherte else in Ontario for that matter!!!!!!!

by (Login Cambridgelax)

Has there ever been any push to get a sr.b club in cambridge I have talked with members inside Cambridge Minor Lacrosse. They have said they are interested in getting a team but i think they need the help of the league, and the league needs help from them. in order to get a team because if this league and the Major league (sr.A) doesn't continue to grow and promote the game then we may end up losing it for the years to come. It is kind of sad to think a league can run with what six teams?? We seriously need to all help lacrosse, go get involved and do more for your local clubs to help them grow and expand especially at our jr levels if the club is doing well I think they should all be able to get a team in either jr A, B or C where ever they fit even that alone could help keep this game going.

What's Happened to this website???

by Scoutsinc (Login scoutsinc)

This website used to have 10-15 posts a day. There has been no posts since the scores were put up Saturday night. If I want to find information about games it's always put on a week or 2 later. I have to go to summeries page, did it not used to be put on main page?
It is really a shame. This site used to be a great source of information about Senior B Lacrosse.
The Trade deadline I believe just past. Were there any trades? I noticed Mike Miron dressed for The Redmen last night. He must have been released by Pickering.
Who is the team to beat? The league seems so close....
let's get this site supported or shut it down, because right now it's embarrassing.

embarassing?

by ... (Login oletimelax)

its embarassing because its slow, and people have more to do in the middle of the summer than huddle over a computer? im not saying thats what youre doing, but keep in mind we just got thru a long weekend. people are gone man... i dont know of many people who bring their computers to the cottage...

miron is now a member of the merchants,

josh agar is now a member of the mohawk stars where conversely garrett ball is now a member of wellington aces.

that about sums up what i know.

ps id rather it be slow than have to sift thru the whos the toughest in the sr b league or can am league like what seems to be always going on on the ola fan forum. the peace here is nice.
