and that the deer didn't bite the blooms off of every darn flower that manages to grow around here despite my lack of effort
The previous owners of this house planted a lot of flowers right before they moved, and the first few springs/summers we had so many pretty things blooming - lilies, peonies, tulips, crocuses, daffodils, and plenty fo things I can't identify... 8 years later, now, all we have is 2 daffodils, a single yellow tulip and the crocuses. All early Spring things, so the next few months are going to be pretty colorless around here. What a bummer.
