I have 95 gti 4cyl golf that recently sat for about 2 years I just decided to put it back on the road but for the life of me i can't get the damm thing to turn over I tested the coil, starter and distributor all are working fine ............ anyone?????
If the vehicle turns over and there is no spark then it is possible from sitting that the crank angle sensor is bad. I replaced a motor in a 95 Jetta 2.0, the engine was a low mileage unit from a salvage yard. I spent a week pulling my hair out going over everything I had done. I rechecked timing, grounds etc. Finally broke down took it to a vw specialist and turns out it was the crank angle sensor. If it is not turning over at all then you probably need a battery.
