They have got some of the
coolest tools out there!
DS#1 and I spent a long time recently playing with Google Earth. I showed him where his grandparents live in relation to us, and then where some cross-country friends live. It helped give some perspective to distance and geography.
I've been using Picasa for some time to publish pictures on our family website.
I use the Google image search any time I need a special background for a CD case when I make a mix.
And this last week I've been playing around a lot with AdWords and AdSense. Particularly AdWords for my polkadotcreations site. I just discovered the "analytics" tab and wow! It is so cool, the kind of information they collect and the slick way that they present it. THey have one option that shows you an image of your homepage and for every link on your page it shows a graph indicating how often that link is clicked. Isn't that cool? I'm still playing, I haven't really scratched the surface of what this tool can do, but I think once I begin to understand the various ways I can use this data then I can probably ditch my $7/month Sitemeter account... (I do like what info I get out of Sitemeter, so I'll have to make sure I can get some of those same favorite reports out of Google before I completely replace one with the other.)
