The leap through time had gone as well as they had hoped it would have. It was still day and given the superstitious times of this period, no one would have thought them anything more than two fellow humans riding along the dirt roads instead of the fiends that they actually were. Who would have known that kindred could move during the time of the day as easily as they? Then again, most weren't as powerful as they, of generation so close to the first children of Caine himself.
The only thing that might have raised a brow was that they were both baring scabbards across their backs. While it wasn't uncommon for men to ride like that given the presence of warlords, warriors and soldiers, Viper was a woman and outside of the sword, she was attired as such except for her arm bands and that the hem of her skirt reached just above her knee with a pair of flat leather boots perfect for riding and fighting.
As they slowly made their way past villages and camps, the pair scanned the lands for anything they may need, making mental notes of where they would find it, then return to get them. Of course they were in need of some monies and finding a rather unprotected village on their travels, they took it righ there and then.
They rode through, casually at first then without any warning, withdrew their swords and began slaying everyone they could and chasing down those that ran for their very lives. Men, women and children, their blades bathed red with the blood of the villagers, and those that they hadn't completely killed, were bled dry as appetizers when they dismounted.
The Fiends gorged and took what they needed, and when they had finished their decimation of that village, they set it on fire. A blaze in the horizon, a blaze that would most likely be blamed on robbers or some rogue army. Hawke made makeshift torches from the fires that were burning in pits to heat water and for baths, Viper however used her Disciplines and cast huge volleys of fire from her palms, igniting the wood and straw houses erected everywhere with wicked glee.
For any dying villager, their last images of this life would be of the two "demons" with glowing eyes that rode through and out of the burning village, their features obscured by the smoke and raging flames.
~~~~~~~~Less than a quarter's day ride~~~~~~~~~~
When they finally reached a main town, they rode through and dismounted in front of the town's tavern. Their eyes ever watchful as the eyes that watched them in return, Hawke and Viper could have been mistaken for mercenaries by their appearance and that's the part they would play if only for the night.
