My answer to questions like this will always be the same...

Do exactly what the lab instructions specify; that's all you have to do. In lab 1 it says submit a wordprocessed document. Nothing is said about submitting a floppy disk. (You don't ever have to "read my mind", only follow the written instructions. Nothing you are required to do will ever be left unwritten.)
