I am pretty much done labe one, but I dont see what item 1 for the sumbission of the lab is. The fist thing I see we need to put into the document is about FOLDOC. But that says that it is item 2.

CNET

by Laura

When I go to the CNET webpage to do lab 1 section 8A the homepage comes up but has many errors on it and it doesn't show any of Today's top stories. Is this just a problem with my computer?

I accessed CNET without problem (7:20 AM) today. Try again; if you still have problems...

by Tony

it may be your computer. There is nothing special (of which I am aware) about the CNET website, so if you can access other Web sites, you should be able to browse CNET. Let me know, on this forum, what happens.

OK, be sure to try NetMeeting, so we can be sure of your situation. EVERYONE...

by Tony

should find out what their NetMeeting situation is. I will try during the next few days to find out what common problems are. In the meantime if you want to use NetMeeting but can't from your computer, go to Pullen 109, which is still reserved from 10-11 MWF. NetMeeting works fine from there.

OK, try to join today's NetMeeting between 3:30 to 4:30

by Tony

You can see by yesterday's forum threads that the only place, on campus, that I am sure one can join my NetMeeting is Pullen 109. However, I am trying to find out more than "where"; I am trying to find out "why", so try to join from your room. Don't be surprised if you do not get a response from me - it has been typical that we can't chat even though, in some cases, we can "see" each other on NetMeeting.

"Chat - Not in a call"

by Christopher

I was able to connect to the Netmeeting server with no issue.

When I click the chat icon a new window opens up(The chat window) It states that it's not in a call. The Send To field is blank as well. My Netmeeting window states that I am in fact in a call, and I can see you (TT at Home)

I am using the link right under feedback. A window comes up asking to launch application or quit, so launch application. Then a window comes up saying 67.21.159.120 is asking to join, so hit OK. Then a window comes up right after saying that the other party did not accept your call. I did turn all firewalls off.

quick question

by kitty berk

hey tony!

....i'm a bit confused about the procedure for the lab on the 17th, and i was hoping you would be able to reiterate on this topic, so my first lab would go a bit smoother and as stress free as possible. Are we supposed to answer the questions on your site and then print it out and turn a hard copy of our lab into you? Or do we need to make our own HTML/clone and sumbit that to you as our lab?

Re: quick question

by Christopher

As I read it, to turn it in you printed a copy of the FIRST(and only first) page of your clone. Then you attach that to a printed word doc that has the other various answers on it. Most of the labs are paper-turn-in until we start working on our actual site.

You begin most things on the Tentative Schedule, by clicking one of the links. It is best to begin labs by clicking the "Lab Hub" link on the Navigation Panel. If this is not what you are talking about, please explain exactly what you are "beginning".

Try to do as the assignment says, i.e. submit the first (paper) assignments directly to me

by Tony

You can turn them in during class times or office hours or you can simply drop them off (and pick them up) from the folders in the plastic shelves beside my office door. If you can not come to campus then you can submit by e-mail, but I much prefer paper submissions because I can write comments and feedback on paper. From Lab 5 on, you will be publishing your assignments on your Web site, so there will be no further direct submissions.
