I found this new magazine at Barnes & Noble last night...

I wasn't sure whether this fit here in the Dressing Room, or if I should have put it in the Craft Room, but I picked here. There's more than just clothes involved, but it's about expressing your personal style through artsy means - both in what you wear and how you decorate your home. Anyway, I thought it was a funky little magazine.

Many of the projects were a little too "out there" for me, but I never do projects as written anyway - I use them for inspiration. There's one article that involves altering a pair of jeans by gluing fabric pieces down the leg to form a huge, bright flower. Then you use fabric paint to imitate the look of stitching. I don't think there's any chance I'd ever wear jeans like that, BUT, I could easily see embellishing the bottom of the legs on a pair of cropped jeans with a band of fabric, and that technique in the magazine would certainly work.

Here's a link to the magazine, if you want to check it out: http://www.adornmag.com/preview.shtml

Re-reading old messages I rediscovered this

The link was old (here's a better one: http://www.adornmag.com) but it looked so cheery, I just sprung for a subscription. I can't see myself wearing or decorating with some of that crazy stuff, but I like to look at it and use it as inspiration for other things that are more "me" - still unique, but more subdued
