Come to watch the Man City Game, and since the Ashford game.

How I see it

Outline of Problems

- Forwards - no goalscorer (who will score a goal if given two good chances)

- Midfield - cannot keep the ball well enough to dictate the pace of play. Too many of them playing for themselves and not for the team!) Leave too many gaps for players to exploit..

- Defence - Crack with too much constant pressure. 'Tiron' at fault for at least 3 of the goals against Ashford, and didn't even seem to care !! ?

Prroblems may be round the corner, and along that long road......!????

views welcome

could be right on all counts!

the forward like want the ball to there feet and not to there heads! if the attacks were driven through the middle of the park both the attacker would find it easier.

midfield - possibly with the resent retirment of Keast, the best midfielder available is continually on the bench(???????) and very little moment comes from that area . the game play needs to be ajusted.

Defence - on paper looks ok - but may need some tweeking.

Some player however are paeticually poor and need to be told so danum russell lane clark and richard ask your selves are you good enough for this level of football

Starvin' Marvin

by John

Marvin Blake has left Corby Town and gone to Barry. What does everyone think about the result on Saturday. I predict a comfortable victory for the Steelmen. This would be my team:

1. Kevin Fox (goalkeeper)
2. Scott Munton (right back)
3. Steven Julian (left back)
4. Tyrone Mintus (full back)
5. Dean Tallentire (full back)
6. Gavin Cox (centre midfield)
7. Rob Maddox (right midfield)
8. Leon Doughty (centre midfield)
9. Micheal Chong (striker)
10. Richard Tanner (striker)

Anyone have any other ideas.

That sums up the Corby set up, it is fantasy football you play, because the real thing is beyond you. And as for the new striker well he soon saw the potential !!!! and pissed off quick
before he got any bad habits.

if there are any bad habit being formed - they are being picked up from that twat danger jimmy cane and his side kick penfold pengelly. between them they couldn't run a race, a piss up in a brewery would give them a headache and when it comes to the delicate matter of business dicissions they have lost the plot. Its not really that fair to tar penfold with the same brush as cane (a man who has been fleecing the towns folk of corby for the last 30 years) but too many wanky polititional trats are rubbing off on the youngster.

I dread to think how many self important cu?ts from the council would turn up if ctfc managed to get though to the 1st or 2nd round of the cup. Its time those free loading tossers were told to f@ck off and that the supporters had no confidence in the charman and vice chairman.

If you have any quiry in this matter please reply.......though I suppose jimmy cane would find using a computer qite difficult being an old git and member of the ludite fraterity.

Jimmy Kane

by John

I must say that Jimmy Kane is a rude little man. He wants me to root through the bin for winning scratchcards that I threw in the bin. He didn't even tell me I needed to keep them. And he's now moaning his head off because I left the gate when the game started. It's not like he pays us to do his crappy work. When it comes down to it, I'm here to watch football and if I can't do that then he can shove his crappy turnstile up his ass and do it himself.

if dont like it....sod of...

by some one who does voltentry work

Well if you dont like doing something for nothing well dont bother. Lots of people do volentry work (not just at Corby Town) where they dont get paid but still turn up week after week and just get on with it..even when they get moned and groned at. Its the army of volentry workers which make the non-league sceene what it is. They do it for the love of it.

time will tell

by sensible

yes of course your right, people from many walks of life volunteer ( spelt correctly) to help the football clubs they dearly love.

But after many, many years of it the pill is to big to swallow. Nobody wants to be rewarded financially, but a pat on the back goes a long way.

And while you have that excuse for a chairman onboard, the club and its very small band of merry men will not go anywhere.

I see from reading the forum a balloon race was organised but fell foul to lack of interest. And this is a club that need money in the bank.

From what I know about the club and that is a lot,
on and off the field I think it is time to pull the plug and save what dignity is left.

Another season avoiding relegation is on the cards.

Why bring back players as the likes of Warner who the last time was here, told the club where to go,
and Chong, Kennedy who wanted to play UCL for better money wheres the loyalty!!!!!.

Regards

EUTHANASIA

Wrong end of the stick

by John

I am not saying I do not want to do voluntary work but I am there to watch football. I am very willing to do work for the club but I am pissed off at everything I do being wrong in the eyes of citizen kane. I want to help the club but jimmy seems to make it as difficult as possible for people to get involved. Why doesn't he just let people get on with it? George and I manage perfectly well on the turnstiles and Jimmy should just leave us be.

how long will it be before Mr Kane has driven everyone that wants to help away from the club ? if you take a minute to think about it ,there must be at least ten people who no longer have anything to do with the club, all of which nameing Mr Kane as the reason, all people that were activly involved in running different aspects of the club, none of which has been replaced . I WOULD DEARLY LIKE TO SAY MR KANE SHOULD STAND DOWN AS CHAIRMAN HOWEVER WHOELSE IS GOING TO DO IT?

disappointing

After a disappointing start to the season where we got beat 4 times in a row and conceded 13 goals and scored only twice with Starvin' Marvin netting twice, there's only one consolation.........

Kettering are bottom of the league without scoring a single goal!!!!

Balloon race

by

FOLKS,

Due to the very poor response to say the least, the
proposed event has been cancelled. I had worked very hard on the above event prior to going on holiday and was disapointed to see my efforts go to waste when I had returned weeks later.

I'm appoligise to thos people who may or not have put the effort in but it had to be a team effort and it was not.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Martin.

i think rob has done really well since he arrived and now we have the 2 best managers and secratary in the league. we have a squad to match and should push 4 honours. rob has helped me and the new boys settle in well and i do appreciate it. the lads are also really friendly. i havent rediscovered my touch yet but it will come and as long as i score as many as miller(big fat zero), ill be ok. bus to newport now leaves at 7:45 and is fully booked.

sorry for any offence. the views at the foot of my message was that of a relative. With out defending him, i realise you have been doing a great job in increasing the clubs publicity, but will they come to you 4 times at the rothwell corinthians match. connect still have a long way to go, but they are getting better. when will we hear the pre-season list on the radio. When will we hear news on the club as it happens. We all know you give the stories and that connect only have certain air time for our reports but 45 seconds? come on. connect as a duty to serve corby the same as corby and when corby radio gets its license, we look forward to hearing you & gerry in your full broadcasting glory. By the way, ive left school.

its a fair point - however if you have new why not use the forum page as a news service ie

corby played pretty well with the team available against the poppies scum but it felt that there were very few steelmen fans there and they werent very vocal. maybe you should be rallying the troops to get more local corby support together to cheer the lads on!

At the end of the day 2-2 was a good result and two corby players shone, messrs kennedy and fox, and by the way the sheepsh@ggers played they will be going down this season!
