Great Game

by Paul Dredge

I went 2 the game on saturday. It was great play by us. We should have won by loads. We were unlucky. We were great in the attack and great at the back. I haven't seen Corby play that well 4 ages. We were brilliant. Paul

Youth players!

by

Im sure that if the youth team were good enough to take the first teams place, then the manager would be the first to notice. Lee introduced sean, paul, dominic and david to the first team, and im sure eadie will do the same.

More youth team to first team.

by

I am a worried steelman, i beleive that we should
bring youth players up and sell old first teamers. I watched Corby youth versus S&L youth at corby and a few people caught my eye, David Glass i thought played amaznig, Paul Docherty, Dominic Johnson & Sean Brennan should be given a first team place as they are committed and want to win. I hope with the appointment of Eddie that they will get their chance......

eddy start

by Johnny5

I have to say that eddy mcgoldrick has made a very encouraging start to his managerial career and that the idea of the players wearing ties is a very good one.forget about Rothwell and get behind him. Good things will happen.

think about it

by realistic

If thats all you can think about is wearing a bloody tie then you better open your eyes.
Does it win you points, does it bring the crowds back in, does it get rid of wanker kane NO! I dont think so. I feel very sorry for eddie I will
give hime until January and then he will get fed up with the old regime and quit.

It is no good trying this old boys club tie rules
many managers have tried it in the past and to no evail. Its all about money and how to bring it in,
try another commercial manager with a polite attitude business accumen, pleasant telephone manner and of course who can sell sand to the arabs. Sit down Jimmy we are trying to sell you
and besides you have and never have had any of the above.

Its gettin' better

by

So corby are now off the foot of the table? Good!!
They had a terrible start to the season and I hope it'll get better with Eddie McGoldrick as the new manager. I used to be a ball boy for the lads last year and my mate is Gordan Kyle's son. Gordan being the ex-Secretary of Corby Town F.C
THATS ALL!!! Cheers!

jimmy c***

by colin clarkes cat

well, well well. Now the soap opera that is ctcf has really stepped into the realms of dallas an the ufo!

Eddie a onece premiership footballer and cursed with the affliction of being "a corby boy" has returned to "do good".

This is the same bloke who was turned down by nuneaton b for lack of mangerial experiance but will gain valuable knowledge in the steelmans hotseat before........pissing off to some where with a higher profile and better prospects.

Of course , i sure he wont be there very long because of his other commitments with sky and national radio apperiances and because jimmy cane will treat him like shit. Its all there, jimmy cane is a complete tosser and will offer no help to anybody let allown an x pro. in fact eddie (and im not standing up for him) might just be the one person who having been told to cut his budget once more will slap the little fucker so hard that he drops dead.

Jimmy when will you get the message. piss off. No one likes you. In your life every thing your touch has turn to shit. Ex chairman of the council who agreed some of the orginal plans for our shit town centre and along with others helped rape this town dry. ex chairman of the county council with no gains to readilly talk of. ex chairman of corby town back in the seventies who saw thw club enter its other bleakest time in history, ex steelworker, ex boxer and a labour party member!!!!!! Everything you have ever been involved in has turned into a pile of poo. Your follower, pengelly, has been heard to say that you will be moving upstairs to position of president????? Just go home, lock yourself away in a small dark room and stay there.

Before i go i can only hope that some how you get to read this communication jimmy(im sur one of your young boys- used to be a boxer ???- passes it on to you). I will offer good luck to mcgoldrick as he wil need it, especilly after the result against the bones last nite but roll on saturday when we all find out the new secretary is roger abraham????????????.........

Eddie McGoldrick

by Emerald Isle

Apologies in advance from Ireland for inflicting Eddie McGoldrick on you.
I'm not sure what he will be like as a manger, but as a player he was piss poor and it's incredible that he was winning Ireland caps under Jack Charlton at a time when we were reaching World Cups etc.
Eddie won 15 caps from 1992 to 1995. His last game was against England in Dublin in 1995 when the game (a friendly) was abandoned after a riot by English fans.
A suitable send off for a poor player. Good luck!

As a corby lad, it is good to see another corby lad in charge of the team, although it was VERY harsh sacking LEE.. Lee was good for Corby and I can tell you one thing- he gave 100% for the club, and i am sure that there will be other non league clubs interested in his dedicated services.

But good luck to eddie. Corby needs some inspiration and hopefully eddie can provide it. Maybe we'll get some more local lads in the team, like a couple of the lads from desborough and S&L and hopefully the supporters will respond by coming in droves to support the steelmen....

Adams asked to resign

by John Stobbart

Lee Adam has been asked to resign by the chairman on behalf of the board. If they wanted rid of him why did they persuade him to say when he resigned. Things have improved since then, so why make this decision now. Strange timing.

Lee Adam

by corby fan(one of a few)

This is a bloke who has worked hard for Corby town.He has not had great results, but then again who has in recent years at Corby. So maybee the problem lies elsewhere,(its to easy easy to blame the manager).what Corby town needs is money to pay decent wages to attract better players. We all know that money is not being generated through the turnstiles (pity, but a fact).Iwas one of the few that watched Corby at stamford, and what i saw was a club that knew how to survive in this hard footballing world. They had a programme full of sponsorship adverts.the ground was also full of sponsorship boarding. Now im not going to point fingers at indivduals but maybee (who Knows)if our chairmen and directors made a little bit more effort(i appreciate some of them work bloody hard for this club)we might just get a little more cash to make a difference. It was a pity that a firm like weldon plant (a Corby firm)could sponsor a crap side and not inject cash into Corby.ok so time to get off my soap box, but to end with ,if you realy think changing the manager will make a difference ,dream on.and no im not Lee's wife.

well said

by god

it must be said but there is alot of truth in what been said here. Many people do a wonderful job and put alot of time and effort into the club. Unfortunately it is much more important to bring money into the club along with ideas andbusiness skill but the directors and in particular, the chairman, have very little or no temperment what so ever in running a business or a football club properly.

I heard that twat cane on the radio saying that that for the last 3 years things have not been going well on the pitch. but the question must be askes....when did you take over as chairman????

I seem to recall that under other chairmen(business owers) the club was playing better football, made more money, spent more money , had more support and was a friendly atmosphere in whoch to watch and enjoy football.

I wouldnt want to be the one (being god and all) to suggest any radical ideas but wasnt mr cane chairman back in the 70's and he ran the club into the ground back then too.

The resignation of lee adams is particully sad and miss timed. it is also sad to see ian lochhead go as it was sad to see gordon leave before him. but could it not be said that the only real person that need to walk out and away from the club is that spitful vindictive ten bit politician, half pint, short tempered, bad mannered little dwarf JIMMY CANE???????

by the time you read this the new manager will be annonced......good luck to the steelmen, it may be needed!

Latest Situation on tonights game!!!

by

As you all know, the poor weather has caused localised flooding in the area and tonights game is in doubt. Yesterday, both goal areas were under water but a lot of the pitch was looking good! I am expecting a call in the next couple of hours and if you dont see an update here before 1o'clock, you can ring me on 07980 438071. Hopefully if the rain holds off, we should be ok.
