So let's discuss the integrity of minor hockey then. If the Penguins had 60 players interested - how many of their own players did they remain loyal to after a dedicated season? Did they kick some to the curb in favour of a player that might only be 5% better? Sure, there is an obligation to improve your team, but loyalty based on success is also an important principle to teach players. I disagree that only two teams have a chance to win it all - especially this upcoming season. I think players do their own recruiting and many friends have come down to join teams and strengthen the competition within the division. I could see 4 teams in the East having a great battle all season. In the West, it should be the same thing - 3 or 4 teams battling hard. Bottom line is - it's the last year, and based on what people are saying - it should be the most competitive year yet! |
