I hear they have a goalie spot available. This will be one of the best teams in the loop no question.

Did the Rangers loose their Goalie. He was very good for them. You would think with such a great team goalies would be flocking to them, but after all it is Vaughan.

I would think most of the AA caliber Defensemen are in AA. The team last year had 1 or 2 players that were AA players. How many new players did they sign and did all their good players come back?

They currently have 4 def signed and our looking for 1 more. They retained all the quality players from last year plus added 4 "AA" players and 1 "AA" goalie. From what I hear the "AA" kids came back because of the team unity and the friends on the team... they look very strong for next season, plus the coach MG has a good reputation for developing and building a great dressing room.

I heard that they are looking for a good "A" type player. It does not matter what position he plays. They are a very strong team and will be rotating positions. So if your kid plays forward dont hesitate to call them to see if they are interested.

This team has a long way to go. They almost were beaten by an inferiour Avs team. Then they were trashed by the Royals. HV beat them 4 straight to win the Division. This team has a long way to go to be undefeated. The team and the Coach have not proven anything.

June 6 2006, 4:17 AM

Considering that 90% of the team was a select team the year before and that most of their compititors were writing them off before the season started. Then they go and win 30 games playing the same teams you mentioned above. The reason why they were not successful in the playoffs is that they had 8 kids down with the stomach flu and throwing up before each game during the first round... So before you shoot your mouth off about a team that went 30-5-1 get your facts straight!

Ok, I have my facts straight. MG record had nothing to do with coaching but had everything to do with his goalie. This became pretty evident through the last part of the regular season and the entire playoffs when DC (the goalie) was mostly unavailable.

Now this year, because of friendships MG lucked out by picking up 5 AA players from the Vaughan AA team which now means that MG has nearly half the roster of the former Minor Atom A Vaughan Ranger team that went undefeated 2 years ago.

Wonder what the excuse will be this year?

Most teams have 3 levels of players. Those top few that may be able to play up a level. Those in the middle who are average players who contibute at their level. And the bottom players who could either deveope into the middle by season end or who may drop down a level next year.

Teams like the sharks have all their players at the top level and that is why they are doing so well but, how many other teams can claim that?

That is the truth if you want to believe it and it pertains to most teams.

(reply)

Looks as though the Rangers (with a short bench) gave the Sharks a run for their money Friday night and from the looks of it could of and or should have won the game. It ended in a 3-3 tie. The Sharks were given a reality check and the very hungry and determined Rangers pissed them off. The Sharks coaches were not very happy, It was great to see another team push the mighty Sharks to the limit and left them with a reminder that the Rangers are not done just yet!

Go Rangers

Right on Morris. Next time shorten your bench a little more and finish them off. It's about time someone dishes that team a well deserved beating. I am not part of the Rangers organization so it's safe to say don't listen to the critics about shortening the bench. Beat that team at all cost. Let's send that team to AA as losers.

The Rangers need to score more than 1 goal in a game to win. I keep hearing that the Shark goalies are week so i find it hard to believe they are out shooting the Sharks. I think the sharks are toying with Rangers. The Sharks are a big strong team and if the Rangers can't take the hitting to bad it's part of the game. You sound like a Ranger parent not a scout. The big challenge for the Sharks will come out of the East. Just rember the Sharks record 33 wins 0 losses 3 Ties Regular season. 9 Wins 0 Losses in the play Offs Total domination of the West this year.

The Ranger are the only team that can play with the Sharks that's including any team
from the East! Regardless of the fact that the Rangers are half the size, they have more heart and determination then any team out there. They also had a great record this year and they achieved that with heart and determination, If the Rangers had a few more heavy weights it would be a very different series.

If you ask me the Sharks are not as good as they think they are or as all the hype suggests. Yes they are a team built for "AA" only because of their size and strength, but they tend to be dirty and a little cheap if they do not get there way. Their goalies are weak although their defense is big and push a smaller team to the outside. If you can break inside you can beat them easily.

If nothing else comes out of this series and the Sharks win all 4, one thing forsure is that the smaller Rangers gave them a run with their speed and never give up attitude regardless of the final scores or outcome. In my view along with many others that have watched this series, the Rangers have improved more so than the Sharks have, in reality I thought the sharks would have played even better and would have dominated the series! If it were not for the odd bounce and missed calls by the refs this series could be tied or in favour of the rangers.

Also the notion of the Sharks toying with the Rangers is outer BULLSHIT!!! The Sharks have to resort to dirty cheap shots to slow the much faster Rangers down. Too bad the lucky bounces, Ref’s and even the location of all 3 games have favoured the BIG BAD SHARKS!!! Typical.

The Rangers should be very proud of their season; they achieved a lot this year!

Hey Morris it's time for me to give my input just like I promised you when we met at the pro shop. Your team was a pleasure to play against all season long. Very clean and very disciplined. You're a great guy and a great coach. If some people feel that your kids don't have heart don't worry for the team your playing against now is full of ASSHOLES! Keep going Rangers for it's not over and some other teams are on your side.

Sharks are Toying

No score for this post
March 18 2007, 8:27 AM

The Sharks are toying with Rangers. If they wanted they could run up the score but then you would bash them for that. The Sharks have had 7 games with Rangers out scoring them 27-6. I would think that shows how one sided it has become. If you think back to last year there wasn't much to choose between the 2 teams. They tied for 1st with Sharks winning the playoff game. As you can see the gap has widened. As for the Sharks being big and bad, I think that is sour grapes. If you can't handle the hitting go back to house league.

I agree that the Rangers of last year had a great team. I think the problem with the Rangers this year is that they added one too many "AA" kids that came with individual agendas. The coaches were warned before the begining of the season that this would happen.
