Penguins - improved on last year
West Hill - kept stars and increased depth
Knights - lost 2 stars and replaced with average talent
Flames - improved overall roster but not enough
Ted Reeve - didn't do enough
Islanders - mixed bag
Raiders - lost a lot but still ahead of last 2 teams
Hillcrest - some good pick ups
Aeros - bigger and better

Hillcrest, Ice Raiders still looking for players. Wild card team is the Aeros. Penguins, West Hill and Knights will remain strong. Ted Reeve didn't bother with a try-out, have to wonder how they will look. Leaside lost some players, but has a full roster. No idea on Islanders. |

PENGUINS a lot better as they added a number of top AA players to a top core
WESTHILL kept their better players and picked up a few more decent players
KNIGHTS lost a couple of very good players but still a top 3 team
FLAMES got better but not good enough. could fall as far as 6th
ISLANDERS picked up some better players, could grab 4th
THUNDER will improve simply with better coaching. will compete for 4th or 5th
RAIDERS can't fall below Hillcrest or the Aeros can they
HILLCREST just didn't do enough
AEROS just because

Penguins obviously gearing up to take out the Knights in the East and the Rangers in the West. No OHF this year anyways, it's the 2012-13 season that really counts. Other teams will have to recruit very heavily to compete. As with many talented teams, depends if they gel and coach can put it together on the ice. |

West Hill is God's team but if the team doesn't get off to a fast start, the team could implode. New coach is arrogant and most parents are put off by him. Only reason the team stayed together was because the players wanted to play together.
We're a better team then last year, more depth, so it should be interesting. Looking forward to going up against the Knights and Penguins. |

| Re: new playersNo score for this post | October 31 2011, 1:16 AM |
West Hill (Got off to an impressive start)
Penguins (Has more depth and less injuries then Leaside)
Leaside ( Too many injuries, cant win too much with a line and a half, they will start falling behind of top 2 a bit, plus only relies on top couple players)
North York ( Big drop from top 3, not too much scoring)
Ted Reeve ( solid team, still good offensively, only relies on a couple players, not too good defensively)
Markham ( Drop from top 5, but look to have more scoring ability then last year, especially compared to teams behind them)
Aeros ( Have some very good skaters and good scoring ability, defense don't look to bad, they'll put it together and finish ahead of Hillcrest)
Hillcrest ( Improved, has the ability to go out and steal points, but still wont be a threat of any sort)
Ice Raiders ( Disappointing, hopefully they can go out their and steal a win or two this season, their has been some close games so lets stay hopeful!) |

| Re: new playersNo score for this post | November 1 2011, 12:14 AM |
West Hill - solid line-up, more importantly committed to defence. Goaltending looks good. Key is to not get too cocky.
Penguins - Not as strong as most predicted, but still a very solid team. Lots of goal scoring, team play in own end a little shaky. Regardless, will show very well.
Leaside - Not sure of all these injuries or how long players will take to recover. Seem to be getting through it okay for now, but schedule gets tougher over the next few weeks.
Knights- Strong defence, good goaltending, just seem to be lacking scoring touch. Lack of offence will hurt them against top end teams.
Ted Reeve - Consistent. Tough. NO all-stars, just a good group of players who work hard and will catch teams sleeping. Could provide a play-off upset in 2nd round.
Hillcrest - Much improved over last season, but still seem to be lacking a consistent effort. Some new players still adjusting, but team seems to have moments where it comes together really well.
Islanders - Too inconsistent. Play well against Royals and lose 2-0, get blown out by Penguins, dominate Ice Raiders, lost to Hillcrest, beat Ted Reeve. One really good goalie and too many new players.
Aeros - Obviously better than last year. With solid direction, team could continue to improve and challenge for last playoff spot. Need to take advantage of Ice Raiders and weak teams in West.
Ice Raiders - Tough situation. Boys play hard and keep it clean which is all you can ask. Hopefully they find success over the next few weeks and gain some momentum |

| Re: new playersNo score for this post | November 3 2011, 6:17 AM |
Because the goldenhawks have hands down the best transititon game and best defenseman in the league
..These West hill posts are obviously from some player who thinks hes going to the show because hes winning in A hockey.
Goalies are still not very good. 5 shots a game isnt too much to ask
Gotta admit, teams pretty impressive though, should win kraft cup and have a shot at the division, their gunna lose to vaughn or royals in the finals anyway so it does not matter too much. |

Over a third of the season is gone, any updated predictions?
Here's what I think
West Hill (great start, complete team)
Penguins (not as good as last year)
Knights (getting it back together)
Flames (better team then last year)
Ted Reeve (too much talent not to make it)
Aeros (tough team thats improving)
Markham (just not a good team)
Hillcrest (disappointing)
Raiders (better then their record) |

West Hill (Solid team, wouldn't say they are as good as their record, but in the season no one will catch them now)
Penguins ( Not as good as last year, but still a very skilled solid team, will surpass leaside very soon and remain in 2nd for the rest of the season)
Flames ( Surprising start, better than last year, will compete with penguins and goldenhawks for division title in playoffs, can come up ontop with hardwork and luck)
Knights ( Solid defense, if they can get some scoring together will compete with top 3 with possible division contenders)
Thunder (Dont know whats going on but way too many skilled players too end behind the teams their behind now)
Aeros ( Physical team with a couple of skilled guys, but just simply not enough to be close to division contenders)
Islanders ( extremely poor defense, not physical, will remain ahead of canadiens due to speed)
Canadiens ( Not a very fast team, physical, but just not skilled enough to do much better than this)
Ice Raiders ( Better than record states, came out short on a bunch of close games with top teams like penguins flames and knights, hopefully these guys can steal a couple wins and be taken more seriously)

"the coach tell them to stop scoring when they are 4 goals above and keep the puck in their end as to not embarriss them..."
so the 6-0 over the panthers and 7-0 over raiders were what? Unable to count?
why stop at 4 goals over? why not make it 5 so it's running time and everyone can go home early. |

West Hill will not win the east in the playoffs. |

The one goal games are games were the Goldenhawks use the "trap" so the apossing team wont score. vaughan and westhill will be a good game to watch, westhill is a more fast team, but vaughan is a more technical team. vaughan seems to have scored more goals.. and westhill has fewer ga. so there both different teams. whatever team comes to play will take the game.. cheers |

Pre-Christmas games will be interesting. Can Leaside or Penguins pull away from the other? West Hill will likely remain with no losses heading into the break, can anyone step up to the challenge? Can the Knights try and jump into the mix for one of the top 3 spots? Islanders have games in hand - can they pull away from bottom teams? Which of the bottom teams will make a push for the last playoff spot? Can the Ice Raiders string some wins together and join the mix?
Really entertaining season so far - and the last 3 weeks before Christmas promise to be entertaining also! |

Islanders lost D-man in second period, leaving them with 3D-men and the same number of players as West Hill. Islanders also missing captain with injury and another top forward. Islanders also had lead 3 different times, West hill had to play catch up. Give credit - Islanders had strategy and it worked and they got a point out of it. |

If West hill is the mighty machine they claim they are, they should be able to beat a 5th place team even if they have a short bench. If Islanders had short bench also - then no excuses at all. |

22 to 4 penalty minutes advantage for the islanders? Thats what happens when your coach is also a GTHL ref. How can the league allow this to continue? |

Not trying to be the GTHL insider but even though it was 22-4 the last minor to the islanders was given to them after the game was over, so it was really 22-2.
Regardless of penalty minutes the islanders still played a good game |

Let's be honest - Islanders don't beat Leaside unless they play well and get a few breaks. If you're Leaside - great teams find a way to overcome adversity and beat a team below .500
Good for the Islanders stepping up lately and playing some good hockey - but you can't expect it to continue. Every team hits hot streaks and it's their turn. Enjoy the points, chase the Knights, and get some distance from the lower teams, it's not going to last all year. |

Not really, the only games i remember royals playing east team is losing 3-0 to leaside and 3-3 to knights, and their short players i believe
some of those top west teams arent as good as their record, they just dont have enough good teams to compete against so they rack up wins against those bottom select teams
cant wait till west hill gets their ass wipped by vaughn |
