I agree that Star Wars should have won over Annie Hall. No contest. I went to see Annie Hall in the 1970's and I just couldn't see what all the fuss was about, but Star Wars blew me away. I still think it is one of the best movies ever made.
But that being said I disagree about Chariots of Fire. I think it deserved the Oscar. I saw it and was moved by the performance(I don't remember his name) of the guy who will not forsake his vows and run on Sunday. I thought he was brave to stand up for his principles and I like the music too but I know that no movie should win for just a good soundtrack, lol.
