Power Train Warranty - anybody know anything?

Do you happen to know whether you need to go to a car dealer to have work done if your car has a power train warranty, or if you can go to your regular mechanic to do the work? Any insight into the claims process would be appreciated. I have a strange noise coming from the van, and I'd much prefer for my own mechanic to check it out than to find a dealer who I don't know or have experience with.

TIA!
Lisa

Some larger mechanics accept vehicle warranties <m>

But you'd have to ask your individual dealer if he'll accept yours.

ps - Sorry for the late reply. RL has been too real lately.

I figured I'd just have to call the mechanic. I've been putting it off - I hate being without a car!

And don't worry about the late reply - I know all about RL being real, LOL! I haven't posted here a week, and I run the place!
