healthy eating wagon. I've gained back about 7lbs since Rebecca's first surgery. I'm sure it's a combination of a lack of exercise and bad eating, but I've felt so stressed that I just eat and it's usually bad stuff.
How are you all doing?

I had lost 16 lbs last year, and I've gained back about 11 of them. Ugh. Just this week I started my food diary again because I'd really like to be back down to where I was last year by November - my BIL is getting married and I'd like to squeeze into my favorite little black wedding dress.
At least you are still below where you started. (m)

Most people gain back more than they lost so you are doing okay in that area. Hopefully you can easily adjust your diet and start getting it off again.

I kept my food diary all last week until Friday, when I had a shindig in the back yard, and Saturday when I went to somebody else's shindig in their back yard, LOL! Gotta start again today and try to get back on track!
How are you managing?

just being aware of what/how much I eat, and making better choices based on that knowledge is what helped me lose 15 lbs last year. I really didn't even feel like I was on a diet. Which really should make it easy to keep it off, shouldn't it? I'm not sure why my enthusiasm fizzled - it was working, and it wasn't too hard! I've gotta get back on track. Yesterday was a good day in that regard. I hope I can keep it up. Good luck to you, too!
I just got on DH's program FitDay. I love it! He used the online version for a while and liked it so much, he bought it. In one month he lost 13 lb. I started it this past Sunday. I've already lost 4 lb.! Of course most of it is probably just reducing the amount of food I sick in my stomack and water, etc. It is very encouraging and motivating. I get to log in everything I eat, all my daily physical activity, my mood, my health, my goal and weight every day and it charts and graphs my progress and also gives me an estimate of how long until I reach my goal. Love it, love it, love it!
All I have to do is get more consistent with my exercise.
I have been using some software for the same purpose and it really helped me reach my goal last year. Unfortunately, I've been putting it all back on, but I'm trying to get back into the swing of writing things down. I don't know what's stopping me really - I know it worked for me when I was doing it, and it's not that hard. So what's the problem? Motivation is a funny thing... I did well yesterday, so that's something!
I started dieting for the 1st time in my life on Wednesday *m

and so far so good. Basically, I calculated that I usually ate 2200 calories a day to maintain the weight I was at. 1 pound = 3500 calories, so if I cut my daily intake by at least 500 calories per day, I'd lose at least 1 lb a week.
I'm doing great at it so far, writing down everything and exercising and writing that down, too. I also track how much water I drink.
The Moms of March 1998 board that I belong to has about a dozen active members and six of us started our diet together on Wednesday - we're in teams of three to see which team can lose the most. It's awesome to have support, you know?

I bet making it a competition has helped you stay on the wagon more than if you were just doing it for yourself. How is it going?
I may have to steal that idea... maybe some people in my MOMS Club would go for it. Goodness knows doing this on my own is not really getting me anywhere lately.
I stepped on the scale and almost passed out this morning from the shock, LOL! So, I really need a kick in the pants. I was thinking of trying a buddy-system kind of thing, but I thought I'd see how that worked out for you.

women on that board, only 6 of us were participating in the weight loss challenge. Even though we asked board opinions at the beginning (should we take the weight loss challenge to another board so as not to hog it, etc.), there was one member who didn't say anything until December and then she told us she had left the board for several months because it made her sad/mad to see the weight stuff, because we were all trying to lose 20 to 25 lbs and she herself was looking at losing 100 lbs and having a horrible time of it.
Anyway, I lost a total of 14 lbs and haven't lost or gained any in the last 5 weeks - guess I'm at a plateau of sorts. I hope to start exercising with the hope that will kick me into losing the final 6 lbs. We'll see.
It was really great to do the team thing while it lasted, though.

great job on what you've lost so far! I lost 17 lbs 1.5 years ago, and I felt terrific! Nevermind that I've put it all back on over the last year or so
I'm putting off the weight loss thing for a while, but when I decide to go for it, I'll have to keep the buddy system in mind. I may try and do it via email.
