hello all, i am laura sidla and the rector of the upcoming Rhode Island happening #59 taking place on October 20-22, it, i was just surfing the net for other happeners across the country and perhaps beyond, and found this site... id just like to ask for prayers for out upcoming weekend, for out staff and candidates and elves... thank you all!
Ummm its been years since I've heard or talked to anyone from the Happening crew ...
To those that knew me ... HELLO!!!!! HUGS Just wanted to say Hello and a big WELCOME to everyone I haven't met over the years.
I've been married divorced and remarried ... I've now got a beautiful 2 1/2 yr old named Adrienne Michelle. Staying busy between working, running after her, and everything else. Hopefully one day ... probably a few years down the road, my husband and I will go to Cursillo.
Oh ... We were in New Orleans on the west bank at my dad's church(Algiers UMC)when Katrina hit, so we were greatly spared ... Got really watched over us! We're now in Plaquemine and Gonzales area ... might be moving over to Gonzales not sure.
A close guy friend of mine Tyler Jones was shot and killed in his home Dec. 30, 2005 along with his girlfriend Amanda Tate. His mother is in critical condition and we are unsure if she will survive or not. So pray for us who have lost Tyler along with Amanda's family and Tyler's mom. They do not have the shooter in custody so pray that it all works out. Along with that we are having to hold off Tyler's funeral to see if his mother will make it out of surgery or not.
Another guy from my school, Aaron Harvey, killed himself Christmas day. Pray for his family along with his girlfriend whom is pregnant.
Another prayer request is for Chelsea Church's family, who are struggling with Chlesea's death at the moment and along with that are being force to pay for the damage done to a man's yard where Chelsea's accident took place.
Please keep the families and friends in your prayers. We miss Tyle, Chelsea, Aaron, and Amanda very much. Thank you...

Hello Happeners!
It's been a very long time since you and I have seen or heard from one another. 2005 has been a very busy year, so I just wanted to get on here and let you know that I think of you all often--especially those of you who I have served with in CCYM and all you guys from Happening #20 (the BEST EVER!!) I got married since we were together last, and became a mom all at once! I now have a 12 year old stepson named Kyle, who is active in youth at our church. Some of you may have met him at either Fall Convo or Jr. High Retreat this year. He's great, and I love him very much! As 2005 was a busy year, 2006 looks like it will be even busier. I start License to Preach School on January 7th. I hope I get to see you guys around the conference this year. Send me an email and let me know how you are doing. Please pray for me, as I am praying for you.

it's been soooooo long since i've been on here. what's even more terrifying.....i'm about to graduate college!!!!! and anyone who knows me knows that's a scary thing cause then i have to grow up. haha. things in my life have been so crazy. i hope everyone is doing well. it really is scary how fast time goes when you're killing time going to those stupid inventions we call class. it's so weird that people now are going through Happening that became active after i went to college. Happening 18 now seems such a long time away. hit me up and let me know how everyone is doing. gotta go start studying for finals.
Hey..I was wanting to make sure everyone is ok after the hurricane. I had talked to Chris Deano before the hurricane and they said they were all right. What about everyone else? Just keep on praying.

Happening 26 totally rocked. I would have responded sooner, but I had no idea about this website untill Marrisa pointed it out to me. lol I can't wait till a reunion!

I'm a Happener from #17...can't believe we've made it to #25 already!! wow how time flies!! SO...I have a strange request. I know the song that used to be sung during communion at Happening was called Common Bread. I love that song and it's been haunting me ever since my Happening. Does anyone know where/how I can find a recording of it...or at least the words?? Thanks for your help
hey y'all! i don't know about you but i really miss happening. i wish i could staff 26 but unfortunately i had to turn marla down. But, i'll be working for God so it's all good. For those of you who don't know, i am going on an 11-day mission trip to Cambodia (July 10-21) so obviously i'll miss happening. Noah O'dell (happener at 25) is also going. I hope to see all of you at reunion!!

It was good to see so many of you old-timers this weekend. You think you feel old...I was on staff with you guys when you were in high school. Now you are off trying to find schools for Phd's and getting married. That makes me feel old.

On January 4, 2005, 10-year-old Katelee Hart was hit by a car while waiting for the school bus after she had run out to retreive her dog. She didn't hear the bus coming because she was listening to her i-pod. she died later at St. Francis hospital. PLEASE be in prayer for the Hart family and the entire community. Her funeral was today.
