I'm not sure if the expansion of Oil search has had any impact with professionals overseas. But I do know that the mining boom in Australia has currently gotten a lot of professionals (ie, Mining Engineers, Geologist and tradesman)
offshore to the mines in WA, QL etc

I’m sure there’ll be jobs available both in PNG or Aus when you graduate.
