I'm planning on studying in Australia beginning of 2008.
Was just wondering which is a good University to study a Post graduate with Economics in Australia??

Any wantoks or friends of wantoks in Australia or have experience living and studying in Australia can help me??

University Queensland might be your top pick.

Every year, economic graduates filled out the Australian Course Exit Questionnaire (CEQ. Based on these results the Economic schools are classed according to;
1. Good Teaching Scale (GTS)
2. Generic Skills Scale (GSS)
3. Overall Satisfaction Scale (OSS)

UQ School of Economics is currently the best economic school in few consecutive years.

Other pointers to consider.
1. Weather
2. Accomadation expenses
3. Social environment (you might be in a best university, however, social dangers are there)

Not the University that determines your marketability. It's how well you perform in studies. You can attend a very good Uni and scrape thru with Ds and Cs. That is not reflective of the Uni but you as an individual student.

I'd say most Unis in developed countries are top Unis in their own right. Save stap long yu, ino Uni.

How about study atmosphere and security wise. There may be Uni's have better boarding facilities or haivng a Uni in an area where goods are cheaper.

Naive, wantok, any university would do just fine. I understand your wish to study in a top shelf uni, usually its how you handle yourself and how well you communicate universally changing abstact concepts. After all, Universities are people, students and lecturers.

Well from my limited experience in Brissy and WA, I would say perth is quite relaxing but I know my dad would say go for UQ. Security in Aus, is relatively the better, so no need to worry.

As for expenses, Bazzars, and other sales are usually common all around aus so no need to worry there.

Important thing is experience in the subject. If you would like to go on to PhD then I would suggest a reputable University, helps to have a reputable uni behind you to rub shoulders with some of the best.
