There was a Malaysian Investor wanting to develop Jathropha Plantation in PNG. The developer secured a land in PNG somewhere in the Central Province of PNG in 2007. The land area was around 116, 000 hectares. However due to land owner politics, the project did not commence. We were told that Japhropha is the top candiate for bio fuel and the company was planning to make PNG the reference center for Bio fuel with jathropha. however that can not be realised now becasue of the infighing between the land owners of the propsoed project site.
