Instructor Observer/Pilots needed for Wing Aircrew School
by
The following personnel are needed for the KY Wing Aircrew School:
1) Instructor Observer (IO) - The school has one slot for an IO position.
Duties: IO's will fly in the back seat during the aircrew school and grade student observers on a set list of performance standards for each sortie.
Requirements: Be a fully qualified and current CAP aerial observer with a minimum of fifty (50) hours logged IAW with CAPR 35-6 and FAR's.
Instructor Observer Candidate must meet with Aircrew school cadre in December and be IO certified by flying a sortie that is graded by the chief IO in order to be certified as an instructor observer.
The IO will need to commit to be at the entire school, both weekends in January.
2) Mission Pilots - The school has four slots open for mission pilots.
Duties: Mission pilots will fly the student observers on the mission profiles for each sortie.
Requirements: Be a fully current and qualified mission pilot.
Pilots need to commit to attend the last three days of the school. During ground school the first day, pilots will receive an orientation as to what is expected of them during the flying phase of the course.
3) AIROPS -
The school needs one fully qualified AIROPS to run and track the paperwork for the school. This duty is vital to success of the school, but is somewhat reduced from normal AIROPS duty since the school cadre does the flight schedules for all students.
If you are interested in filling either of these positions contact me as soon as possible with your intent to assist with the school.
4) ELT - The Aircrew School two ELT trainers (one primary and one alternate) and one hand held L-per trainer. If you or your squadron can support this logistical requirement please contact me as well.
