For me this comes down to Good v Evil..and as some of the other mentioned before...free will.
We can either choose to walk a good path or a very dark one. Just as He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden and they chose to eat of the apple.
I suppose He could put a STOP to the evil and according to my beliefs, He will, when He returns.
But until then He allows us to live our lives either with Him or withour Him.
Believing in Him is a huge leap of faith. Following in footsteps you cannot see (Him in the flesh, but I see His work everyday, even amist this increasingly dark world), believing in what you cannot feel with your hands (but you can with your heart)...it's not easy. Esp. in light of recent circumstances. Perhaps you feel tested. That is quite Biblical. For an interesting read I suggest the book of Job. He lost it all, quite literally...but never his faith.
I have went through this peak and valley, a faltering in my relationship with Christ...when this happened...I think it to be only natural. The blessing is He is always waiting for you with open arms. I find incredibile solace in that fact. There is no doubt in my mind that He and His angels were watching out for my Angel..otherwise she would have never told.
Aside from complete rapture...He did everything He could to help us on Earth to heal my child and He carries us on so many days!!! And will forever more.
You'll get there...remember...cutting a big old slab of slack cake for yourself?
