are u talking about permanent hair removal? ..there are prescribed oral medications that have been found to affect hair growth...but they have their side effects. There's a prescription cream called Vaniqa that can be applied, but its only for women, used to lessen facial hair...its only about 50% effective and i doubt it wud be available in PNG. But there's the electrolysis method or lasering...
Google it and you'll see

RE: Hair removal medic-your body hairs play a very important function

The hair on our bodies is a characteristic of mammals (animals that nurse their young with milk). Hair plays many important roles--warmth and protection from germs for example. Hair also helps reduce friction and thereby irritation--in skin-to-skin contact, like under your arms.
The most fascinating role of body hair, however, is to assist olfactory (relating to smell) communication. One of the most important forms of human-to-human communication is through scent. Your body releases chemicals called pheromones that create a unique scent to you. Newborn babies can pick out their mother's blouse from a group of blouses based on scent alone. A mother's pheromones can calm a baby even when mom is absent.
Body hair retains your unique chemical signature, allowing others to sense and respond to you. When afraid or aroused, your pheromones change. Most of us know that dogs can "smell" fear--and it's likely that humans can too.
(ALL THE NOTES ABOVE TAKEN FROM A RESEARCH READING ONLINE)
I just want to put this across to you so it makes you think clearly about what you are trying to do. Permanently removing body hair can have serious side effects.
Just concerned.

Permanent hair removal is done nowadays as cosmetic surgery procedure in cosmetic surgery clinics.
The common sites where people want to remove hair, are:
1. Facial hair, especially in females
2. legs, especially in females
3. Underarm
Laser is best for light skin people with dark hair, because the laser light is absorbed by dark colors, thus hair absorbs light sparing the skin, otherwise one would be burnt. After absorption of the light it is then converted into heat energy which destroys the hair shaft and/or follicle. 3-5 repeated sessions are needed to completely remove the hair. Unfortunately, laser is largly used on white skin people and experience on dark skin people are rare and it is also expensive and can't be found in PNG yet.
In PNG, it is possible to use electrolysis or thermolysis-inserting a tiny, sterile needle into the hair follicle and passing electric current or heat to destroy it. Takes time but it is reliable if done properly.
Immediate side effects of permanent hair removal are swelling & redness which subsides within 3-4 days. Long term side effects are rare. The sebacious glands associated with the hair are mostly spared so they go on producing sebum (a oily substance) which keeps skin from drying and produces the body scent after it is broken down by residing, skin bacteria. Generally, in dark skin people more sebum is produced. There is also evidence that keloids occur where there is alot of sebaceous glands (sebum). It could also be a reason why keloids are common in dark skin people more than in whites.
Finally, because of these ordour from sebum, most of us are trying to cover-up by using deodourants. Try to imagine a night club where everyone is not wearing a deodorant or perfume. The place would be stinky and unbearable. Try to imagine how much money we spent in a year on deodourants and perfumes. The main source of the sebum and odour is our underarm. Not only the odour problem but look at the stains on your shirt's underarm part and also the colar region-(other mammals are lucky, because they don't wear clothes and they need the scent to recognise and attract each other while humans have grown out of this practice and have become more sophisticated). There, is a yellow-brown-black stain that no matter how hard you try to wash-off, it only gets worse the more you wear your shirt, all because of sebum. Now, there is a treatment for osmidrosis (the secretion of fetid or smelly sweat) of the underarm. It is a surgical treatment. It is cheap and it could be done in PNG.
The only side effect of removal of sebaceous gland with hair follicles could be dryness but usually a few a spared to avoid this problem.
Hope, I've shed some light.

The skin consist of the top epidermal & the dermal layer below. The border line between these 2 layers consist of the basal cells (a kind of stem cell) which renew the top layer, continuously throughout life. The dermal layer contains fibroblasts, which produces collagen & hyaluronic acids which keeps water & tightly holds skin together. As we grow old, this natural renewal mechanisms slowly fails (the reason; interplay of complex mechanisms).
Dermatologists have developed various methods to assist or enhance the natural skin renewal process, both from the top & from below.
From the top:
1. Skin peeling systems
a/ chemical-chemicals are used to peel the top dead skin layer (keratin),this
activates the basal cells to renew the the top layer. There are various
sytems with various prices. It could be done in PNG
b/ laser-light energy is absorbed by the top layer & converted to heat, that
creates a mild superficial burn that removes the top layer. Same principle,
this activates the basal cells below.Lasers are too expensive.
c/ mechanical-dermabrasion (physically, scraping off the top skin layer) is
usually used for a different purpose. Done to even-out gross, irregularity
of the skin after acne scarring.
From Below:
1. Fillers
a/ natural-fat or fibrous tissue from other parts of body can be injected. The
principle is to alter the skin contour & remove wrinkles
b/ artificial-hyaluronic acid, collagen & other artificial substances are
injected. There is risk of allergies & infection.
2. Fibroblast stimulating systems
a/ lasers that penetrate deep & breaks the skin integrety below, this
stimulates the fibroblast to produce more collagen
b/ radiowaves-penetrates deep & are suppose to stimulate the fibroblast
c/ physical-insertion of absorbable suture materials just through a tinly
needle hole are believed to stimulate production of collagen by the
fibroblast that tightens up the skin.
Classical face-lifting methods; incisions are made so the the scars are
obscured behind & around the ears. Space is created under the dermis &
physically the skin is pulled, stretched & re-sutured. This trauma itself
stimulates the fibroblast to produce more collaged below to tighten the skin.
Thanks for reading!
