An interesting documentary excerpt about HIV/AIDS. I think this is a bit of an old one and was on 4 Corners. I was a little dismayed to see PNG portrayed in such a negative light but what got me the most was the raskol's misconception of how HIV was contracted. Women are more likely to get this 'sik nogut' than men are? 10% more, he said. They speak fairly good english so how is it that they cannot comprehend or make sense of all this AIDS awareness campaigning?

Hey, haven't seen the documentary but yes there is alot of misconception about how AIDS is transmitted in PNG. BTW, Kudos going out to Dr. Frank Dale (Kedz) up at Goroka Base General Hospital, he is the Project Coordinator for Malinda and Bill Gates HIV/AIDS Foundation here in PNG. His doing alot of work in awareness and treatment administration in the Highlands of PNG.

Sassy I'll ask him about what the local peoples general impression of AIDS is the next time I meet him.

Cheers!
