Air Niugini by Mika Handa, 25 March 2006
NRT-POM-BNE Business Class. It was a pleasant experience. FAs are efficient and friendly. I did not have much expectations for the IFE but was actually quite good. 3hour delay at Port Moresby but waiting at the executive lounge, time went very quickly. Incidentally, I never complain about delay when the airline company's priority is safety and paying extra attention to some fault even if its minor. I heard airliners in South Pacific region as well as Australia and NZ have very good safety record and I deeply appreciate and respect that.

CNS-POM-CNS + domestic. The cabin crew are friendly, and I would fly with them more if they expanded their route network. Fares are steep, but then they have a monopoly on the PNG market. Aesthetic needs a bit of an upgrade as do most parts of the overall product (ie entertainment, inflight magazine).

Air Niugini - by Peter Hughes, 30 August 2004
The service is always good, the food often served cold, training required there - the delays are ongoing - why? Why can't we use upgrade certificates on the BNE-POM flight? The lounge in POM is late opening and often doesn't open before the 7am departure - people pay for this service.

BNE/POM/MNL/POM/BNE in April 2004. First time with this line. As Mr Tate says the cabin crew are shy but very helpful and courteous. The cheap fare for the round trip (about $820) was the snare but I found them punctual, efficient and the food (economy) quite good if a little light on in- flight reading matter.

Air Niugini - by Suzanne Ryan, 4 April 2004
I would not hesitate to fly with Air Niugini Airlines again. I flew twice with them last year (2003) to Singapore and happened to have on board two of the same crew as my previous flight with them. They couldn't do enough for their passengers, Qantas could take take a leaf out of their book. I no longer fly with Qantas as I find the staff always trying to avoid going that extra mile especially when it comes to night flights.

I was on my way to Malaysia via Singapore 2002 and I saw for myself how the Air Niugini Flight attendants helped an australian couple with their distressed infant. The infant could not settle down and was restless so two flight attendants took the baby towards the restroom and somehow managed to give him a quick bath which calmed the baby down and held him till he went to sleep a few minutes later. The mother was so grateful you could see it all over her face.

They even take time to smile and chat with the passengers, me included.

Later that evening, onboard the Malaysian Airlines, I was expecting the same thing that happened on Air Niugini but as soon as the flight attendants were done with serving refreshments they were no where to be seen until the plane was about to land.

This made me glad that I am from the LAND OF THE UNEXPECTED. Yeah, expect the unexpected when you are in PNG.

cheers
Rishika

Ol lukim skin blo ol olsem 'masta' that's why their so nice! To other nationals..maski they don't even know the meaning of customer service. Sorry, if this sounds racist or anything but they're usually not very helpful to nationals. Being a student and having travelled on Air Niugini so many times, I can't say they weren't all that!!

Did over 10 international flights with Air niugini. All these flights, including the first & the last are the best in terms of hospitality from the flight attendants.

My experience with Quantas was the worse one. I think it was a kind of racial discrimmination, I would say. I was seating with my leg slightly out to the aisle. This flight attendant (a young white guy) came & kick my leg in, without saying anything. Klostus pait i kirap, tasol nogut ol thing mi 'tero' na panik i kirap so mi kulim. Then a request for a drink 3 times, never came. It was a Quatas flight from Cairns to Narita.

Nau mi no mo fly lon displa route.

Steve na ol wantok (Air niugini flight attendants) keep up the good job.

WNM

From my own personal experience, having flown with Air Niugini to Singapore yearly, over the last four years...all I can say is that to the foreigners thay are all nice and. You tok long ol national...em narapela stori!!

The old air hostesses ( and i mean wrinkly old) are just rude!! Nogat smile blo ol and they snap at people. I don't know about other airlines but there is absolutely no way that Air Niugini service can compare with Singapore Airlines which is probably one of the best measuring sticks in the world when it comes to airline services.

Good thing Air Niugini had their recent recruitment drive. They got alot of wrinkles to iron out!! some fresh faces are much needed!!

I don't think he/she is making a direct reference to one particular old lady. 'Hostesses' = plural. That's a general statement.
